Cannot speak for dispensaries but on the grow operation side the amount of paperwork and accountability is ridiculous and could easily be cooked.

I'm for complete and total legalization. Mostly bc it creates a safety issue with cash. The Feds and their love of tax collection has me perplexed as to why we are still playing this dumb game of keeping it illegal. I know the SAFE Banking act is in motion but legalizing it would be so much easier. Guess our lawmakers are too busy enjoying cartel kickbacks and not just the ones with a D in front of their name.

Client has a 30 minutes showing as tentative on their calendar. But then rehecho the meeting invite as they have a conflict... Asks you to reschedule to a time already booked on their calendar.

    Um....

quasi-legalization has only increased the level of black marketeering and created an artificially inflated 'legal' purchase price floor. Full-on legalization would only exacerbate that for the highlighted reason you already stated. For every $1 in 'legal' weed tax revenue paid to the states, the black marketeers can easily make $2-3 in black/gray market weed that now is nearly impossible for the state to detect from licensed sales. That $1 paid by licensed grows in taxes is barely a scratch in their overall profits when they choose to cook their books, as you stated.

Cigarettes are fully legal but because of the heavy taxes; tens if not hundreds of billion$ in illicit sales are laundered and mostly diverted to the Middle East and China every year. It is a completely flooded white/gray/black market and impossible to effectively regulate. Weed would be (and kind of already is because of the flaunting of federal law) the same.

You could only effectively regulate 'legal' marijuana if it was very minimally taxed; and as evidenced by cigarettes and current state policies in regards to licensed MJ sales; that will not be the case.

Beer/liquor taxes would have to be the model. There's equilibrium in that market between production, consumer demand, prices, and regulation (taxes.) Demand is pretty high, but mass production costs are fairly low. Taxes are just high enough to make a little money for the G from the producers and points of sale; while still being low enough to prevent pushing licensed booze sale prices up to the point that production and sale of illegal hooch at volume is not really tempting when compared to the potential jail time if caught.

Honestly, booze is one of the most effectively and fairly regulated industries. Sure they'll always be some people who just want to avoid any revenuers, but overall it's a self-balancing system...for now.

    Ice cream.
Why in the ever living F is everyone talking about ice cream? Other than the boot licker WH press core which I know why; it seems everyone is trying to normalize this fakeass obsession.

Ice cream has always been a staple in our family. We have two ice cream makers. I make keto no sugar free ice cream for myself. Ice cream parlors are always packed in our area and there are many of them.

While I can agree with some of that you lose me when it comes to the black market. Regulations, inspection and quality testing are what most customers are paying for in taxes, quality product. When you buy hooch out of the trunk of a Chevy Corsica like you might buy weed from your friends cousin Jerry at the frisbee golf course you know you are taking a risk of getting something bad. But when you go to a regulated market you have your pick of brand, quality and variety. Sure, your still going to have homegrown just like guys who make their own beer and whiskey. But the majority of people like the storefront and variety of selection, not to mention a safe transaction. The $1 to the $2-3 on the black market may be true if some areas but I think that is more fueled by states that have yet to pass medical or legalization. The black market benefits from a regulated market in other states. So why not cut their legs out from under them? We've had 2-3 grow operation busts over the last month and one is directly connected to Chinese mafia or so says the scuttlebutt.

I could walk out my front door and be back with a $2500 pound of illegal Seattle's Best in about 15 minutes. Completely under the table and about $2500 less than that fake-ass price floored state-approved cheeba with a stamp signed by Gov. Pritzker on it. Probably came from the same 40 acres of prime Washington real estate, too.

    https://marijuanarates.com/chicago-marijuana-prices-shop/
    (average of $315/oz <$5k+/lb>as of February 2021.)

$2500/lb profit on a substance that is nearly impossible for cops to discern if it came from a 'legal' source or not. Not to mention that possession has been decriminalized.

So even in a state where marijuana possession and sale is completely legal; because the state is greedy and taxes the crap out of it (coupled with the costs of retail infrastructure) there's still way too much profit incentive to traffick in illegal weed; especially since to get caught you have to be really, really dumb/greedy; and there's very little chance of getting prosecuted even if you do get caught.

By the way, that $2500 pound of illegal weed has every bit as much profit potential as a kilo of cocaine with about 1/10th of the initial buy-in costs and almost none of the exposure to prosecution. So there's every bit as much turf fighting and violence attributed to the trafficking of it.

Yup. Weather and equipment failures aside, one of my big peeves.

Having worked on the east coast much of the past 10years and working mostly with financial services clients, I was able to catch early morning Monday flights... Often in the client offices before they were and then this Covid thing...

Gee, now that you explain it, that sounds horrible. I mean a conference where you'll probably have free food, drinks and maybe learn some stuff...

People with no integrity, if you will lie about getting a covid shot, you will steal from the company. Yes I caught him stealing time from the company. I don't care if you have been here 20 years, hell it makes me wonder how many hours he has stole in 20 years.

If you lie to your employer and fellow employees so you do not have to take precautions you are a low character individual, low charter individuals are more prone to be piece of **** employees that would think nothing of taking advantage of an employer and fellow employees. I have documentation.

Even with your documentation you must be able to see the hole in your theory.
