    It is Prime grade though.

Porterhouse and an occasional ribeye is the only beef I buy. Deer do not offer them.

I tell lies though, every now and then I'll buy some round steaks or burger when I don't want to thaw deer.

Only beef I buy in a store ribeyes or the occasional porterhouse. I only stopped at the display b/c I thought, oh, I bet they have them on sale because of Independence Day...

...should've known better. The Republic is dead.

It is Prime, $18.99/lb is pretty fair. Do y'all not have Point of Orgin labeling? And for the record, we run Improved Northern Angus but the best steaks I've ever raised were Hereford.

SON wanted us to go in on raising a cow with him to butcher. No because I can't eat all the deer I shoot and hubby stopped eating all beef. He eats only a little venison. Due to a few years of gout had him in agony.
Well the guy he had a deal with backed out when prices went sky high. The calf was quoted at 75.o0 at the time they talked. Can't blame the guy, he can make so much more now.
But you can bet I'm going after more doe and younger ones now. Killed, cleaned, aged, butchered properly a young deer can be dang good.

Best beef I've ever eaten was a Jersey steer we raised. Not commercial prime because of yellow fat...but dang if every bit of him didn't have a butter type taste. Mainly Grass Fed with some feed. You don't get as much meat but the marbling and taste is fantastic.

How about the gas prices these days? Wanna know what happened before the housing bubble burst back in the day?. Gas prices went up and up and up.

3.75 here yesterday. Was down to 3.09 about a month ago but has been hovering about 3.29 on average.
About a 1.50 higher than last year.

Last year I was on track to hit (actually exceed by a few hundred thou) my magic number in my 401k by 2030. Due to inflation and the complete collapse of the dollar's buying power, that figuring is completely out the window. And that's happened in just one year.

Yes on the POI. Or at least we did in Indiana; don't think I have paid attention around here.

Even around here, Prime had been hovering around $10lb. On sale all the time for 6.99-8.99.
This is almost a 100% increase in price in less than a month.

I usually buy Certified Angus but damn...didn't even make it over to that display, I headed straight to the liquor section after seeing those prices.

I think I paid $16.99/lb last time I ordered 64oz Prime Porterhouse from L&M in Chicago. I know they charge just a wee bit more than normal but its so worth it.

Beef prices are up here too. I noticed the butcher shop I frequent was about 50% higher. But go figure, I dont blame a guy in office but moreso the grocers association for gouging. We are not seeing that big of an increase in price at the sale barn, processors are running at capacity. I think with stimulus money more people are buying beef, people that would normally pass on it. I just picked up a case of baby back ribs at Whole Foods and only paid $6.99/lb which is about $2 off normal price for all that fair trade, animal wellness hoopla they claim. I have two steers in the feed lot rn, if you want something to complain about I'll send you the feed bill for those two competitive eaters... Barley is effing ridiculous rn but the only corn I'm feeding them is silage.

I have heard people griping that bacon was up like 30%; haven't seen that here. I usually buy the same brand of thick cut that retails for $9.99 but it's on sale all the time for $6.99.

    Been rough in the PNW.
Monday hit 112, Tuesday hit 119, yesterday it hit 115.
Supposed to be a refreshing 102 today. You’ve had some sh**ty weather when 102 sounds like a nice break.

Buffalo is going to elect it's first openly socialist mayor in like 70 years. Man I don't see this ending without a lot of in- fighting

... Yeah pretty sure if I can just realize 16% annual return, I have a fart's chance in a whirlwind of retiring in 7 years...

Apparently we've traded weather. 86° with 80% humidity rn. Fts, give me my 100° weather and 20% humidity back. We've had a solid week of rain, roofing schedule is more banged up than a drunk prom date

Did you ever go eat at Wehrle's restaurant? Had a girlfriend from Buffalo that would never shut up about the place.
