Called a company today... Hold. 'your hold time is 45-60 minutes' ... Business' call center is also only open 9-5. No chatbot online either... 1) in this day, I don't see why a call center, even if they switch to auto response or chatbot for basic questions or service functions, aren't available 7x24...and staffed 5x8. 2) if you have wait times of an hr, you either need more staff or a 'we'll call you back' feature.
Wife ordered from DoorDash last night, no big deal as we do this about three times a week right now. The idiot driver completely missed the driveway and put a huge muddy rut off to one side. Nothing, not a word from the idiot. Mud all over the place, huge rut and silence. Mistakes happen and its all part of life but not owning up to it, chickenchit. I would have probably said hey no worry and I'll have the yard guy or myself fix it. But now, I'm getting a bids from two of the most expensive landscapers in my neighborhood and they are going to pay, be it doordash or the driver. I have it all on video and I am an a-hole to the extreme mostly bc I just got done fixing this before we had all the snow.
Don't ever call the IL State Police FOID line then. Last time I did was almost 10 years ago. FOID expired in February and it was a couple weeks expired. Sat on hold for 1 hour 56 minutes and some odd seconds before they finally decided to pick up the phone. Told them I didn't appreciate my license expiring and trying to make me a felon in possession of firearms. Luckily I was living with my brother at the time and his was still valid. Miraculously had my Foid card 3 days later. That'a the shenannigans IL politics play. I refuse to believe their call centers were that overwhelmed, I had been trying for days to no avail. Finally called as soon as their hours stated they were open and was prepared to sit on hold for 8 hours if need be. I'm convinced they are told to delay as long as possible. Now they are wanting to increase fees again
I used to work for a dealer part time back in the day. At that time, everyone put antifreeze in the hot water tank-at least a gallon. Guess that is the difference. Dealers will protect themselves from their customers. As it happens, that guy and his wife stopped by yesterday so I got a chance to ask him what he does these days. He says, drain the hot water tank, blow lines, run antifreeze through the lines but not the tank. Seems there can be issues with the antifreeze acting on the anode. He will put some in the tank upon customer request but they have to sign off they were informed of the potential of premature anode failure. And I got a job offer for when my company closes the doors. LOL.
yeah, heard that today on the radio... ... and that's why my plates may or may not come back to me....since it's now illegal to pull anyone over for a misdemeanor, or invalid tags. Thanks Governor Fatass!!!!
This morning was a real treat got just a little snow last night, passed a car in the ditch before I even got to the freeway, then saw a semi on it's side, 4 more vehicles in the ditch. It is March people if you have not figured out winter driving by now you are an idiot.
If they came up with a law that was 180 from that I'd get on board. How about rasing the minimum speed limit to match the times. Used to be 55 Speed Limit/45 Min., shouldn't it be 70/60 65/55 now? Go 11mph below the speed limit and face a fine, do it in the left most lane fine is doubled. 3 lane is x1.5 for the middle 4 lane is x1.25 for 2nd lane. X2 is max.
Same here, in IL though, especially for highways with more than 2 lanes. I understand having to pass etc, maybe require a semi being passed to slow by 5mph for the passer to be allowed to pass quicker. Nothing worse than coming up on 3 wide tractor trailers while doing 87 in a 75 only to have to slow to 80 for 5-10 miles as they try to sort it out.
I could get on board with that, but given that this is IL and the politicians'/public at large inability to do simple math.... yeesh.
Is there a shed hunting season in NY? Why are you waiting? The squirrels sure as hell are not waiting.
