A lot of green ideas do not work, they can not stand on their own without being subsidized. I said it for years recycling was one of the biggest lies ever sold and gobbled up by the greenies. Ethanol has not been as bad but I don't use the crap if I don't have to.
Looks like covid is winding down the state troopers are back out on the road. I have seen more troopers in the last 2 weeks than I had seen in the 6 months before that.
Oh sure that taco pizza sounded like a good idea and it tasted good so I had that 3rd piece, hot boxing the bed tonight.
WTF is up with Swift and their bullshit. Got in ten “50ct” boxes of .338 A-frames a while back and went to reload some tonight and discovered that every damn box only came with 45 bullets in it. It’s bad enough that they’re gouging the price up to over $2/bullet lately (and by bullets I don’t mean loaded cartridges, I am talking just the bullets - IE you provide your own case, primer, gunpowder, and final assembly) but do they really think that they can just short everybody a few bullets per box and none of us are ever going to get wise and realize that we’re getting **** on.
Had the exact same thing happen with the exact same bullet, 250gr. bonded. Chewed ass with customer service and had another freebie box on the way, wasn't the first time they heard it either.
So my wife brought rocks home for a friend from the old neighborhood. The couple with the RV came up yesterday to pick up the rocks. Made a big breakfast omelets, hash browns, sausage patties. Then I got to listen to them talk about their canned goods rotation schedule and their storage modules. Then another hour about ammo hoarding. I asked about their off grid capabilities because if you can't get food chances are you do not have utilities. Call me crazy but phase 1 of my prepping would be off grid considerations as a foundation then hoarding ammo for an imaginary civil war or food shortages.
It is practical. Given this last year in power interruptions, the ice storm at the end of October and this last winter blast, having the ability to function off grid is money better spent. Water was a bigger priority for us when we picked a spot to build, a good well is essential. Cannot wait to be out of the city. You'd asked me a couple years ago what I thought was essential for survival, I'd said food, shelter and ammo. Now I think its getting as far away from people, media and politicians as possible.
I just spent 4 hours and almost 3 heart attacks shoveling 2-3' drifts off my roof the last 3-4 feet closest to my gutters, then spent another hour on my hands and knees chiseling out ice dams...then I get in, crack a beer and see this chit:
I have a few members coming to shed hunt in 18 days and there is a few feet on the ground and another ft projected by week's end. By March no matter how much it snowed all year I'm generally done with winter
On a call with a very senior exec client lead...listening to his lieutenants giving an update...a bit flabbergasted the previlence of words/phrases like : Uh Ya know Stuff Once we understand... Just not inspiring confidence.
Let's put that on hold for a bit, in order to circle back and give that the proper time it deserves. I just used that line in a meeting to table a topic that I have no intention of ever discussing again.
Word to the wise... when you are hooking up a fresh propane tank, don’t stick your face right next to it to sniff for leaks. Burn wounds suck ass...
