The company that supplied the bearings for a lot of them wasn't very good at what they did. We Re-Man a lot of shafts for them. I think we're up to 5 different main shafts. At the time of the pic this was the largest of them. It is now I believe 3rd or 4th largest.

Bearings siezed on them and quite a few caught fire as a result. We turn them down, send out to be welded back up and then turn them to spec.

Luckily I don't have to run them anymore, could be a pain getting them dialed in, the holding +/- .0008" tolerance on each journal.

Been a steady supply of them coming in for several years now.

Please enlighten me. Even the electric engines I know of have a diesel engine to create the electricity that runs the motors that turn the wheels. Others are straight diesel.

Unless you are being snarky and going to tell me that trains run on tracks...? lol

Nope, being snarky as the engine that runs the train is electric as you mention.

OK maybe not snarky-just being a testical a-hole. LOL

Biden - stops new fracking, keystone me espouses green alternatives (US produces 3% of solar panels, maybe 40% wind, ~10% fuel cells)...net many jobs lost.

Raises US Corp taxes, causing international companies to generate more Rev offshore...

Is elected during a global pandemic...

Now orders an investigation of US dependence on overseas supply chain.

    Moron.

You know, you're right. We should just scrap it all immediately. Those people can go get jobs in the oil patch since its working out so well for all those in my own state. Solar and wind energy are providing jobs whereas oil and gas are not. The big three here have cut back to about 30% of their workforce after massive layoffs in'16, '17, '18, '19. All I know is idgaf anymore, no matter what I believe to be true after witnessing it with my own two eyes is all a falsehood bc I dont like Trump. My oil and gas royalties are okay but windfarm lease and future solar farm are paying well.

And to address your statement. Sure we are using fossil fuels to build green energy. Yes, the output has yet to surpass the input as of now. But that doesn't mean that having the infrastructure in place was a waste.

I love it when people who live in a state with no fracking are all for it. We've shut down multiple high pressure injection wells. We haven't experienced an earthquake since, we only had 5000+ a year when they were operating. Btw, insurance here doesn't cover earthquake damage unless its a total loss. Our former governor passed a bill forbidding citizens to sue oil and gas producers for earthquake damage all while telling us it wasn't wastewater injection wells causing them. Such a grand old party statement.

And not one single wind generator out of 17 has leaked oil on our place.

For a group that is so pro-jobs, why do yall hate on green energy so much?

Can you tell the difference between a regular quake and one caused by fracking?

Bob nobody is against green energy, some of green energies biggest fans do not ponder the true carbon footprint of green energy technology.

Green energy is not green. It just creates a lot of jobs, not clean energy. A lot of federally subsidized jobs. Texas is the only state that ranks above Iowa for wind energy production. So, I have quite a bit of first hand knowledge of just how the system works. Many of the windmills are made just up the road from here in Newton. I know guys that build them, work on them, and service the grid for Alliant Energy. I know enough about turbines to know that they are a tremendous waste of resources and taxpayers money. They pushed forward with production before they had a viable plan or technology because there were government contracts to be had and pockets to be lined with cash. They jumped the shark. I am all for green energy, not green pockets at taxpayers expense. Right now, we don't have a decent plan in place.

By the way, I own natural gas and oil royalties and working interests in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. Sorry about the earthquakes, but they bought me a farm or two. I took a hard pass on the wind turbines, I could not stand to look at them. Also, I was not a huge fan of Trump, but he has some great policies that were proven to work.

While I can agree with that I also have to add. If we didn't have the wind farms a lot if people here would be in the unemployment line.

I can appreciate that very much. But, lets call it what it is. In my mind it's really no different than the Civilian Conservation Corps put in place by the New Deal. The only difference is that instead of the government paying them directly, they are paid indirectly through large corporations that are getting handouts from the government. Again, I'm not saying its all bad, but to claim that it is "green" is really more a shade of brown. If it looks like a turd and smells like a turd, you can bet its probably a turd. With today's technology, wind energy is a turd.
