Exactly what I did. She said “We’ll pay you back” and I replied “No you won’t”. She asked me why I said that and I told her “Two reasons: First you’re my brother’s daughter. If he were still alive I’d like to think he’d help my kids if he could. Second, it’s Christmas.”
You know that feeling when you know the day is just going to suck. Snow storm coming, blizzard warning on the way and I have to go to work. Going to be a day that more than doubles my commute time.
My brother and his girlfriend decided they were going to go to Hawaii for a month. The one thing they forgot to realize is that it snows in the winter time in Minnesota. Sometimes a lot of snow (like 6-8 inches and blizzard warnings). They have a car parked in their apartment parking lot... That lot will need to get plowed after today... And they are not there to move the car. Guess who has to drive to Minnetonka to get the car for them? While I'm at it I think I will water their plants for them, because that's just the kind of guy I am. Could be worse but such an inconvenience.
You are a good brother, can't say I would drive from Foley to Minnetonka for one of my siblings, I would say I know you can afford to take care of it. Then again I would never consider asking somebody to take care of stuff for me.
It was white out in some spots can not believe on west bound 94 I did not see any accidents or cars in the ditch. The drive from the freeway to home was an adventure.
At least I will get to use the snowblower I bought. Nothing like blowing snow in subzero weather I hope the wind is still blowing so I can get some snow blown back in the face.
So I am trying, don't want a squirrel war. I do not mind at all if squirrels come in and eat spilled seed on the lawn, you don't get to climb on the feeder and eat like it is Pizza Ranch. Climbing on the feeder and get a pellet shot at you. I trimmed the branch on a pine that they slither down and jump on the feeder to try to eliminate the temptation, but one little rat bastard is persistent. I will trim a couple more branches before I go lethal again.
As I typed that the suet feeder got knocked to the ground, I open the sliding glass door and the feeder hopper bails offering no shot with the gamo. Time for the 410 I am thinking.
I just buy a bag of corn and put a feeder on a pully over a branch on the edge of the woods. I hang it at the farthest reach of their jump to keep them busy. It helps with the regular feeders and corns half the price of seed.
Thought we found a great parcel of land today...10+ acre lots for a decent (relative) price, wife was good with proximaty of neighbors... I was going to call the talk to the realtor tomorrow, but we ran into the developer and we're asking some questions... All good to be tells us the HOA fees...deal breaker. Meh, it was an equestrian development anyway...
a-hole siblings I was supposed to escort my Mom and Dad on the 26th along with their dogs Florida , my Mom ended up in the hospital so we couldn't go I offered my week of availability. Granted I have 2 siblings that do not work but now she will be released and good to go and nobody is willing. I am giving up spending new years sitting with my grandson and because I am going to covid capital that is Florida I have to isolate for 2 weeks. Pissed
I live in an area of raptors. From sparrow hawks and pygmy owls to eagles and great horned owls, so rodents have their place. Big picture.
Big picture rodents do property damage if the population is not managed, your feeder is a welfare, food stamps, section 5 housing. Pretty much luring animals to their death, I am merely culling the rodents that do not have the up bringing and decency to behave in an acceptable manner.
