Allstate insurance. Their so cheap and chincy. Make a contractor work three times harder on a claim than any other insurer just to pay it out correctly. Smartass adjusters wet behind the ears and no construction knowledge. Policies with coverage written out of them. Ive written multiple repair bids over the last month, all in Xactamate, all correct. Not one insurer has bucked any of my estimates except Allstate, one adjuster in particular.

Just know if you have Allstate for homeowners insurance you deserve the shellacking you're going to get.

Yeah used to have allstate till I saw the policy write up on the house. Listed it as builders grade materials, yeah custom crafted rails and beams made from white pine taken from the property, infloor heat, all tamerac trim is not builders grade.

They're in a race to being the absolute worst insurer out there.

You live in Illinois. All the rest of this is superfluous.

Listing my place in appx 2 months. That post will go in the "best things in life" thread.

The rant thread will lose 20% of the post when you move.

Suppliers who think I work for them!

Do this, do that. "I want you to give me a PO with this quantity". "I would like you to order in complete sets".

I don't need that many and I will order in individual quantities as they are manufactured individually.

The closer I get to this plant shutting down, the more likely I will be to send those thoughts to the supplier.

Good thing we have this thread to get things off our chest!

Trying to explain over the phone to my son how to pull a spark plug and check for spark. I failed my son by just taking care of stuff and not teaching him basic mechanic troubleshooting and repair.

Silver lining of the pandemic to us is that it has all but eliminated the need for both the wife and I to have to go to the office. 90% of our jobs can and should be conducted off-site/ from home. That won't change regardless of when the panic ends.

She no longer cares about moving 20-30 miles east because there will rarely be a commute. So Indiana here we come.

Life in general, my best friend from high school his mom died a merciful death she had been in memory care for the last year. She was like a second mom to me, sucks to lose somebody like that and sucks to see a family you have known since 1975 suffer a loss like that, we grew up together.

Sometimes we just need to count the blessings at hand.
Cousin lost her husband and sons friend, hubbys employee lost his SD to a fall/ head injury...within 2 weeks his mom, both in their 50's.
Life is a crap shoot each and every day...make the most of it.

I will have IN plates and a DL less than 24 hours after I have the keys in hand in my new place. Actually I still have my IN DL from 15 years ago but I doubt they'll let me re-new it.
