I saw an article that shamed fathers for teaching their sons to be men and he called it "toxic masculinity", you know...getting into sports, chopping wood, doing the hard work around the house, men stuff. The writer said he was raising his sons to be feminists. We live in an odd time my friends.
I am 51 been married 26 years the look does not phase me a bit, matter a fact if I can get my daughter and wife to both give me the look at the same time it makes me laugh.
I thought that's who it was but I couldn't remember. I clicked the "x" at the top of my browser half way through reading it and got off the Internet.

Why is this bad? Scout leaders are only into young boys, not young girls? So some girls want to participate in outdoor activities instead of learning how to be a housewife. Seems like a good thing to me.
No problem with wanting to do those things, but that is not what this is about. There are many many different camps and clubs where girls can do those things already. The purpose of the boy scouts is to train up young boys and mentor them into young men. It isnt just about campfires and hiking, its shaping those boys to be productive members of society. And adding females into the mix adds nothing positive to this goal, it only detracts. No, this wasn't about making sure girls know how to start a fire. This was a move by the militant feminazis to seize power, pure and simple. It is sad to see how easy the boy scouts caved.
hmm...without starting a argument here that why there is Girl Scouts and such....my 14yr Old Daughter was involved for years (went camping, shot bows, started fires etc...) so lets not act as if they don't have a place to go that teaches things other then being "a housewife" .....lol
Gheez convey I thought you were the forums official $hit stirrer. Never thought you would have so many likes.
Care to elaborate on how it would "add nothing positive to this goal?" The girls who want to join must want the same things as the boys who are joining, right? They will be trained and mentored into young women wouldn't they? FYI: I don't fully agree with girls being allowed to join the BOY scouts. But I haven't thought of this topic at all since I don't have children. My question is simply being the devils advocate as I look at issues like these from both sides and try to understand what each side thinks.
Sure, I have no problem with a devils advocate, I usually find myself being one. I said the focus of the boy scouts was to raise young men, women were never part of the equation. Here is the quote "The purpose of the boy scouts is to train up young boys and mentor them into young men. It isnt just about campfires and hiking, its shaping those boys to be productive members of society. And adding females into the mix adds nothing positive to this goal, it only detracts." That is the BSAs Mission, it is male focused and adding females will not contribute positively towards their goal. I can list a couple negatives, #1 It makes for a uncomfortable and distracting situation. The young men will be focused on making sure they "look cool" to the girls in their troop. adding a female presence will take focus away from what the scoutmasters are trying to teach them. Furthermore I would feel badly for the girl, she has to live with a bunch of 13-16 year olds gawking at her, trying to win her approval etc. It is a messy ordeal which will only detract from the main goal #2 You have to water down activities due to there being a girl in the troop. She has to have her own tent, private dressing space, female leaders(another distraction for the boys). Girls on average are not as athletic as boys are, therefore a troop will have to accomadate to that. How will these girls ever fit in with the troop if there is so much extra special attention that they will require? Again this only distracts and takes away from the main goal #3 Their needs to be a whole leadership overhaul: Now the BSA suddenly needs to find girl scout leaders, I think it goes without saying that there is alot of unchartered ground in that area. and now male leaders need to worry about mentoring these girls. I am sorry if they don't want to hear it but the two sexes are different and require role models of the same sex. Why would we have men mentoring young girls, and women mentoring young boys? this is ludacris! #4 Of course there is worries of sexual assault and harrassment, I could go on, but these are of the few more important issues off the top of my head.
Understood! This is me being uneducated.... What's the difference between the boy/Girl Scouts? Just different things they teach? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
