Watched a THIS season hunt video. Young guy shows sling seat on his stand broke as he was sitting in it. Says good thing this has a wide foot bed or it'd been a long drop down. Which had me searching for a harness tether. NOTHING!!!! I had assumned his harmess was under his clothing. I do that with my vest. No strap around the tree that I could see. I won't give my real thoughts on this other than WTH

That’s just plain dumb. Every activity I enjoy doing requires the use of both arms and legs so getting paralyzed by falling out of a tree stand just doesn’t fit into my plans for the future. I am probably overly careful. I hook my tree strap on before leaving the ground and don’t take it off until I get back down.

I hate using a tree strap because the whole loosening it and scooting it up the tree every few feet is a pain and makes a ton of noise, especially on a pine tree, but I still do it. The season before last I finally started just keeping a bunch of static climbing rope, prussik loops, and Caribbean beaners in my truck so whenever I set up on a tree I plan to use again (even if its with a climber that I am not leaving there) I can attach a permanent lifeline on my first sit so it’ll be quieter and easier to get up and down the next time. I buy the rope and caribeaners in bulk so it works out to be about $10-15 per tree depending on how high that stand is.

You ever get in one of those moods where you just want some shots of liquor and to be around people cursing? I don't even like liquor and that sounds appealing to me.

I would recommend skrewball peanut butter whiskey on the rocks let the ice melt a little.

Without a clue of details, are they threatening a tax increase if an ammendment isn't passed? Seems kind of corrupt.

Howdy, neighbor. We haven't met yet. I'm Illinois.
Can I borrow your truck? Your daughter's kinda cute, too. What is she...18? NAWWW, 15? I bet you don't sleep too soundly at night, do ya? heheheh, huh, heh...

    **********

IL currently has a flat income tax.
They are saying that if IL doesn't pass a progressive income tax (which has an initial level but in the statute there are no limits to how many times the Governor can change the brackets or rates) or else they will be forced to raise the flat tax rate to 20%.

So do you want death by 1000 cuts or stabbed in the neck?

Lmao on the first part. Just terrible on the second. Yeah I'd be hoping for a natural disaster too. How far is Indiana again?

15 miles, or in Illinois terms; less than 30-60 minutes.

I am putting my house on the market in spring, if not sooner. I actually live in one of the more desirable parts of Cook County, which is kind of like saying I have cancer but it's the not so bad kind of cancer. The only Republican mayor in all of Cook, our property taxes are comparatively low, and I live in what's considered a very good school district...when they finally go back to school. I keep reading about all these city folk wanting to move to the burbs but I dunno...just checked Zillow

    upload_2020-9-24_20-46-57.png

which is AWESOME considering I have dumped about $25k in the house in the past 6 months.

"good" news is I could recoup that loss in about 4 years of living in Indiana just on property tax savings! (not to mention increased equity and lower cost of living.)
