My father, a college roommate and a guy that worked for me were enlisted. The guy that worked for me later became an officer... BIL is also a full bird (in the AF).
Got up early and out the door at 530 this morning to do some fishing. Drove the back roads in southern Richmond area for about 20miles. Along the way I saw truck after truck pass me. Dents in the body and mud on the tires. Headed to work early. Got me thinking about "privilege". Drove past houses half the size of mine with 4 to 5 vehicles out front. Families just trying to make a life for themselves and living together with multiple generations. Couple that with me trying to find some files last night when I stumbled upon my grandpa's stuff that my aunt put together. Barely a middle school education out of Tennessee. Went into the AF during WWII and flew in 3 wars. No feeling sorry for himself that he came from dirt poor beginnings and that he felt the country owed him something. No, he felt he owed the country something. So this "privilege" thing can kiss my ass. Here is to you grandpa. Rest in peace.
Family went to camp to clean and mow.. I was stuck here canning tomatoes and making zucchini patties to freeze. Age sucks, standing in the kitchen 8 hrs about destroyed my back and knees. Now I need to make patties and broccoli salad for a picnic at camp tomorrow..
Uhhh... My camp’s idea of fine dining is Doritos... Is your camp accepting new members? I can bring squash, okra, and pink eyed purple holed field peas...
I am really sick and tired of every single issue being turned into racial disparities. Evidently covid is hitting minorities harder that caucasians, while I do not wish harm on anyone I refuse to feel guilty that I am a white guy that has not got the covid.
Couple of rants my kryptonite is dog crap. Since we moved we have a yard and a much smaller property. We now bag up the dogs poo. I was walking the lawn picking up sticks before I mowed and had bags in my pocket. I identified 3 piles so I gave it a go I tried I tried to steel myself but no I puked, and my wife saw it and laughed. Second rant my wife said hey let me mow the lawn. I had to quit watching and walk away. I know people have different ways of doing things but there is a logical damn way to mow the lawn the systematic approach I have displayed. Like I said rather that being an ass I will go check the nails on the dock. (the dock is composite on an aluminum frame there are no nails)
One of these with a little trash can with a flip lid on a foot pedal you can put little bags in Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
****e tastic day...knee is seriously messed up, then we had a whopper wind storm hit. I've mentioned we end up with at least one before each hunting season. One trail blocked by a huge pile of logs from dead tree. So went to check blind. My second favorite stand ...tree destroyed it was the one in a giant 3 trunked maple 17+ yrs old. 1/3 split away taking out 3 other trees . Good note, didn't destroy the fiberglass ladder. It and other trees blocking another trail to new bind. Also testiment to my building...stand is still intact though I can see rest of tree ready to go. Ill take pics. Will dismantal stand in winter Then no power from 10.00 till now 4:30 . Son just called friends getting covid tested.. Great!!
