Frustrating.. as Sota would say :)

It came with the territory and overall I wouldn't have cared but it seemed it got excessive. That and they had a habit of waiting till near COB to call me in. Like between 4-5 pm. Well... I typically was out of the plant around 330 headed home. Home was 60 miles away, after the first couple times I refused to report till the following day even though you were only allowed 2 hrs to report / pee. This was causing drama between my company and the FAA each time to reschedule the following morning.... FAA threatening to pull my certs etc. I was like 6 yrs of regular testing... all passed with flying colors. My company finally let them know if I was expected to report same day we needed notification by noon. Suddenly my testing frequency dropped way off....

Lowes had Halloween stuff out yesterday.
Not only is that 2 months out, it also seems overly optimistic- kids can't go to school but they can go door to door to accept candy from strangers??? Guess at least they'll have masks on

Might be the last official US holiday ever celebrated so there's that I guess.

    (Now back to inventorying ammo)

Went to our local lake to hike with grandson today...Will you people please go back to work and or school!!!
WTH...its a no physical contact lake. Kayaks and 10 hp motor boats. Walking and bike trail around it not a spot to park other than one trail end and that was packed by the time we return. I wish the state had never bought it.

Well apparently my fathers family is cursed or has some kind of bad voodoo on it. Just got word my dad's youngest son from a marriage before my mom has pretty bad pancreatic cancer. He's maybe 7 to 10 years older than me, I'm 36, and from sound of it not gonna be a good outcome.

Doesn't really effect me seeing as never been a part of each others lives. But it's just getting pretty dang ridiculous. Out or the 10 kids in dad's family so far 5 have gotten it, and both parents.

Guess my rant is **** cancer.

I would never drug test my employees. As long as they are doing their work and not screwing things up then I could care less what they are doing on their own time. If they aren't doing their work or constantly screwing up then they’re going to get replaced, even if they are sober.

There are a lot of ****ty employees out there who’ve never done a drug in their life just as there are a ton of great employees who the first thing they do when they leave work is go home and take some marijuana.

Plus insurance is boring as **** so for my people it would probably make them better employees it they did get a little f**ked up on their time off. At least they would get to have a little excitement in their free time.

I get that there are some industries where drug testing makes sense - Pilot, aircraft maintenance/inspection, and most certainly building bombs all fit the bill. Police too, but only because it would be pretty hypocritical to be out arresting somebody for drugs when you do them too. Aside from a few exceptions though, a drug test is useless for the vast majority of the jobs that require their employees to get drug tested. Does whether or not somebody smoked pot last weekend really affect how good he is going to be running the cash register at Lowe’s or as a janitor at the mall or installing bmw body panels on an assembly line (all of those are real jobs that I know of which require a pre-employment as well as ongoing random drug tests)?

If there was a drug test that worked like a breathalyzer for alcohol and actually told you if the person was actually high at the current moment and/or how high they are then the whole employee drug testing would make a little more sense, but there isn’t. (Then again, if you have an employee who is at work and acts like a pothead and whose work output is like that of a pothead, are you gonna keep him around if you drug test him and find out that he isn’t a pothead, just a ****ty Sober employee?)

The current technology where it just tells you that they got high sometime within the past 30 days is pretty much useless as far as predicting job performance for the vast majority of jobs that require it. I do agree there are exceptions, I certainly think that it is reasonable to exclude a bunch of skilled bomb makers who only smoke pot on the weekend if it prevents that one guy who likes to do his bombmaking while high on dope. And I’d rather not ride on an airplane if the motors were installed by a crack head, but do I really give a **** if the guy at Lowe’s passed a drug test when he is trying to give me unsolicited (not to mention completely incorrect and dangerous) advice about wiring up a GFCI outlet?

Worth mentioning to your Dr. And if you don't have a doctor, but do have insurance and it covers well check up its good peace of mind for yourself and loved ones.

This was my case... Family history = predispositioned. Many forms of cancer, or precancerous (if applicable) conditions, are better to catch early.

My wife actually had the genetic testing done because of all the cancer in her family. Every 6 months you get nervous about the appointment. My wife has enough markers in her that going thru airport security can be an issue.

Most work places, mine included, could give a rats ass about employees and drugs. It's the insurance that requires it and usually only tested if you get hurt on the job and at time of hire.

It's not my thing anymore, outgrew it when I got out of high school but know plenty of people who use. If my work did random testing as they state they do they'd lose half the employees, I'm certain of it.

Many people don't realize that smoking is a direct link to pancreatic cancer.

I'm sure it causes alot of problems. Like my dad for instance died of some kind of skin cancer, I'm positive the 5 packs a day he smoked didn't help him out.

When I thought I was going to get job in the Richmond area 2 years ago my old butt went through the police recruitment process. I was nearly done with the process when I walked by one of the secretaries desk. She told me I would be like one of the 5 in 1000 applicants that passed all the requirements. Too bad they couldn't pay me correctly. People are applying, and so are minorities. At least on the PD side. Conservation may be different.

Brett, you know I live just 20 mins south of Richmond, cops won't even go into certain projects now. Two detectives just got shot at last night. It's a disaster. The mayor is more concerned about removing confederate statues and renaming schools and streets... his city is is going to be as bad as it was in the 80s-90s.. #2 murder capitol in the country per population cap..good thing you didn't get on.. a blessing in disguise my friend

I worked for about a year in Richmond in the late 90s. It was a much different dangerous city.
