I have a buddy that used to work for a contractor that did warranty repairs on Samsung appliances and he always said never buy one because all of them have certain parts that just break over and over again. He said pretty much every washing machine they made had this one particular part that would need to be replaced at least twice before the warranty period ended and then again every 2-3 years for the life of the appliance. Don’t remember what part it was but it was some really simple bracket that shouldn’t ever break if it was made right but it was too weak and they kept replacing it with the exact same faulty part instead of redesigning it to make it stronger.

Well, the bathroom exhaust fan replacement did not go as planned. Some idiot stapled the mounting brackets to the bottom the attic joist. Removal of the ceiling drywall became mandatory, not something I had planned on. I called a contractor friend and have is going to have one of his crews just replace the entire ceiling and cut the hole for the new fan. I would rather pay and have this one right since it involves drywall work. The 50-year-old drywall is just crumbling. It probably could do with replacement anyway.

Done right, it should have been some simple screws and wiring in the new fan for about an hours work.

And then, while replacing the leaking garbage disposal that I discovered last night, instead of a proper outlet the old one was simply wired into a hard wire extended of the nearest outlet. Stupid 1979 construction codes are causing me a lot of problems this weekend.

At least the install went well after I figured out the wiring situation.

So had another spell yesterday, kids over to help pack things up. We got the taxidermy off the wall and I was done slept all afternoon and night. Freezing cold all the time and then the second day a throat so sore I could not drink. Lymes never stops kicking your azz.

Idk really where to out this and its not important enough to have it's own thread. But holy crap the entire west central part of this state freaking out over this black bear that's cruising through. Idiots been driving up and down about every road all weekend and today looking for this damn thing.

Which is very sad because experience around here as the population started growing meant that sort of thing ended in a dead young bear looking for it's own territory to live. Now people are use to them...
