every man knows that's our place. The lady's choice is "I don't know" Somehow, she cares even though she doesn't know. She never knows. But she always cares.
Well.... last week I was digging a trench to install some underground gutter downspout drainage and I cut my cable wire. Fortunately for me, a buddy of mine used to work for the cable company and happened to owe me a favor from when I installed a couple mini-splits he bought last year so mine was fixed within an hour or so.
My wife and I have been talking about doing burgers for takeout from our favorite local place tonight for the last week. I haven't had a good burger in over a month. I come home from work last night and she says she wants Mexican. Screw that, she has been cooking nachos and quesadillas for the every week since our shutdown went in place five weeks ago.
I will say that I usually do not encounter much traffic when I travel to and from my Bar. It is all on state highways, speed limit 55 mph. I set my cruise on 60 and go my merry way. My rant...... Lately I've been seeing an up swing of truckers travelling at speeds well over the limit and some driving unsafely to put it mildly. For example, a few days ago I was going to town which is about 15 miles away. While going 60 mph I watched as two truckers passed me and the two vehicles in front of me. They had to be going 80+ mph. This occurred about half way to town. By the time I got to town at the first traffic light, there they sat waiting for the light to turn green. I was right behind them. They saved no time, drove unsafe and wasted fuel. It must be true that the cops aren't pulling people over at this time?
Have you ever tried going full on shaved and polished? Mike Tyson, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Jordan, Shaq, and Mr. Clean all have big heads and it works for them
Better not be, I got snipped after the last one. I am going to have a lot worse problems than this overglorified babysitting gig if that is the case.
It's not a secret anymore- the vast majority of PDs are being told to only conduct stops when there's a significant threat to public safety. Yesterday the Detroit Free press had a story about a guy got nailed going 187mph. In a "Dodge sedan." ...anyway; the MSP spokesperson flat out said they are not doing stops unless there's a direct threat. So there you go. You now know that what constitutes a "direct threat" is 112mph OVER the posted 75mph (in Michigan at least.) CPD isn't stopping anyone less they see bullets flying out of the car. People are driving like absolute maniacs on the city streets right now. IL State not any better...I was on I-294 today going about XX and several people blew past me doing well over 100mph. Normally 55 but we were in an active 45mph construction zone. People DGAF.
Well, that "Dodge sedan" was a Challenger. What go is all that HP if you cant stretch your legs?? Truckers were routinely ticketed for 100 mph in the U.P. of MI in the 70's. Of course they believed they got better fuel economy at those speeds because less fuel gets into the cylinder at high RPMs. I **** you not.
I certainly hope not. But, my wife has friends that happened to. They have four kids when they originally planned on two.
Oh good grief, no way that thing will even hold together at 187 at least not for long. That cop did that fella a favor and saved his life stopping him when he did.
I saw about four or five being pulled over today but yeah, people have lost their ever loving minds. I'm done with it and not bc I dont like going fast, I do, but your everyday run of the mill joe couldn't drive worth a flip to begin with. I see people doing 100mph with a phone or drink in one hand like it's no big deal. Crazy stupid.
Wish i could figure out how to copy paste a url from my tablet. Mlive.com has the vehicle as a 2016 Challenger. Tough to copy paste with s stylus and s few gin and tonics. Lol. Can do that on monday if needed.
ultimately doesn't matter as mechanically they are they same car; but the Freep report I read stated a Dodge sedan so I figured it had to be a Charger. Wouldn't be the first time a cop doesn't know $hit about cars and called a coupe a sedan. I actually tried to fight a ticket once based on a cop describing my Jeep Cherokee as a minivan on a ticket. Did not go in my favor. How could a cop who thought a Cherokee was a minivan be sure he had right vehicle? Seriously? I still want to know, 20 years later.
Well, well, well. Turns out the Dodge SRT has posted speeds of 199mph. I stand corrected. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-dodge-speeding-ticket-180-mph-michigan-freeway/
my favorite part of that article- "No Michigander would ever speed toward Ohio, and anyone familiar with Ohio's reputation for strict freeway policing would know better than to come in that hot." Both of those things are true. And both are separate things.
