What the **** is your existence here? Never asked, curious none the less. Are you attacking him or his family/wife? Seems a bit small, but not judging you....
Don't be too hard on him, he has no idea what it is like to be with a woman that he does not have to pay to be there.
I was going to explain that I live in the country, in the woods. My driveway is a half mile long. I travel a lot for my job, hence my wife is home alone a lot. My point is people do not drive down a 1/2 mile driveway by mistake and better to be prepared, and yes her judge is on her hip when she goes to the barn alone at night.
My wife is well versed in the use of guns or bow. Wouldn't want her shooting at you. The only problem is that when I buy a gun, if she likes it, she'll claim it.
As for the skunk problem..... I'm no expert on skunks but around this time of year are they coming out of hibernation and looking for food? Do they hibernate? Could be their mating season as well. I'm not sure what the reason is but I usually see an increase in their activity in March where I live.
I read/heard somewhere that skunks are inactive for only about 2 or 3 months. 1st of March is when they start getting active here again, you can always smell when they start running around again. I know a guy that has a pretty big property in town and he gets a lot of them with a live trap. Uses dog food for bait. They won't spray if trapped in a small area. He drives them a bit out of town, opens the door of the trap, backs off a safe distance, and then pops them with a .22 when they come out.
I read an article on the internet about live trapping skunks. You get one in the live trap, then grab the garden hose and spray water in the air so it is "raining" on the trap and skunk. Evidently this will distract the skunk enough where you can walk up and with a syringe on a long rod inject acetone into the skunks lung and instant death no spray. Give it a whirl.
I think skunks only hibernate where it gets cold, seeing a dead skunk on the side of a road is a sign that spring is on it's way, soon as you see a muskrat dead on the road you know spring is really close.
Probably has something to do with the bus flopping over here yesterday. Happen about 5 mins from my house so of course everyone was complaining cause they should have cancelled school. Not saying the weather had no effect but I'd bet more the driver was goin too fast hit breaks goin into sharp corner and slid then cut it too hard and flooped onto side. There is a law on the books about plowing across a roadway as well as plowing DOWN the road way as well. A neighbor got nailed on the second one. LOL. Don't forget, if you are out on the road plowing into your property, you are required to have a yellow light that can be seen 360 degrees. And for god sakes, have your lights on!! The ahole who plows the place with the huge bank in the road has a light grey pickup. Almost nailed him one night. Damn blizzard conditions, after dark and this idiot had NO lights-NO yellow light, NO head lights, NO plow lights!!
Wife took the dog to the vet this morning because we noticed a larger lump on the right side of her rib cage. It is a noncancerous fatty tissue tumor. The dog has had one on her face for a few years. Unfortunately, she also has a heart murmur and arthritis. I never had a dog as a kid so when the time comes my sons and I are going lose our first dog together.
I have a plan for the skunks - Going to live trap them then release them then them at the statue protests they have in front of the county courthouse every Saturday. Thanks for the info and inspiration.
Caught a frigging cold. Dammit I've avoided this crap almost all winter long. I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
In my youth.. I had a '79 CJ7 that I purposely parked on an incline to jump start until I could afford to get the starter replaced. I have more stories that start with or center around that Jeep, wish I'd never sold it.
