Maybe we have been doing it all wrong, might have to start trying to catch them. Probably gonna need some Scentlok sneakers..
Ok is it just here in our area/state? I went to the grocery store today and prices on EVERYTHING since Christmas have exploded!!! 4.00 a pound for chicken breast. 3.65 for 7 oz bag of salad. 3.00 for a small head of lettuce..iceberg!!! 4 per gallon of milk. I had to double check I hadn't stepped into a 7.11 or some other convenience store.
Don't know where you live but when you posted that you paid $1600 for a brake job, I thought WOW. I should offer to do it for $1000!! You live in some high priced place...
Let me tell you I left with a very very few things...though one great deal was 8 lbs of navel oranges for 6.99 dang good ones at that!. In one week tomatoes went fron 2.29 to 3.89 a #. Now I hear that not only are they going to charge for plastic but paper as well. Also a charge if you don't get them and use your own. Not sure how true that last one is. It's a NYS penalty "tax" Some people deserve some things..Cuomo
There’s been talk of a state wide plastic bag tax here We will see when it comes about They tax everything else so I’m sure it’s coming Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
$1600 for a brake job! Sweet Jesus! Did they replace the calipers, master cylinder, brake lines, and ABS system too? I replaced all 4 rotors, 4 sets of pads, shims, and guide pin boots on my daily driver last month. Took me an hour and a half to do it and cost about $300 in parts and that’s using all OEM parts from the Lexus dealer. Could’ve done it for half that if I was willing to chance it with aftermarket parts but brakes are kind of important and one of those few areas where I am willing to pay extra for the oem parts.
I thought same thing. I bought a full set of PowerStop Extremes for my Expedition and it was "only" like $700 installed.
I think I post a pic of just one. They actually apologized..it was mostly labor. The rust caused a bunch of problems. That said...NYS is expensive Ps..yes to your first question they took me out to the shop to show me first hand. Honest to God it was jaw dropping. I have no idea how I was able to drive it at all. I really don't drive and thats the issue but the car was actually shaking then I heard the squeak and took her in. I don't use my brakes going down our hill I use the transmission just to save the brakes..So much for that! In the summer if I don't do that,by the time I get to the valley the brakes are literally smoking.
$1600, I'm guessing they upcharged all that they could. If it was mostly labor they really upcharged. Would love to see the itemization on that invoice. Guessing they charged the standard 45 minutes per side for basic brake labor. Not sure if it was all 4 corners or not, nor do I know if it is rear drum or disc. Been 15 1/2 years since I last worked in a shop, I started earning commission at $1200 sales each week. Got 5% on parts and 10% on labor after it was met. Was a small shop so we were encouraged to check everything. Free rotate and balance because you bought your tires here? We do a 30 point courtesy inspection at no charge. Emd up with a quote for overdue oil change, rsdiator should be flushed, differential fluids need changed, transmission flush, air filter is dirty, cabin air filter is dirty, rear brake adjustment recommended and your battery will be due for replacement within the next 2 years. I liked it because I worked on a lot of fleet vehicles, high mileage and you're dealing with corporations not paycheck to paycheck individuals. Shops are crooks, and you'll never convince me otherwise. Off topic, but I took my 4 wheeler in back in October, asked them to change the oil, spark plug and rebuild the carb. I supplied the carb kit. Oil change was $75 on a fricking 4 wheeler, rebuild of carburetor was $148, and I can guarantee you they did not rebuild it. It still has the same flat spot as when I took it in. I wish the hell I would have first, seen their labor charge of $99 an hour, and second marked my carburetor so I would know if they actually removed it. They made the money off from me, then probably made even more selling the carb rebuild kit I gave them for 4 times the cost which was all profit for them
My 2017 silerado has developed an annoying vibration in the dash, got an e-mail about early lease return, it's gone. Going with the full 4 door cab and shorter box. and not gray this time I want a deep green with heated seats.
Is this your personal truck or company ? Just wondering how you liked a lease over purchase Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Makes one wonder.... So many arrested so far, coincidence or is it your exteme climatologists reckoning via rebelling?
Company lease hell I do not even pay for car washes or gas, but the company has 5 leases with the local GM dealer. Have 32,000 miles on a 2017 great truck no issues but the vibration and I want a full 4 door cab I no longer need a 6' bed.
