When people post on here asking if a deer is a shooter. Please stop. If you want to shoot the deer then shoot the deer. Why do you need somebody on the internet to decide what deer you need to be shooting?
Shooting button bucks while mistaking them for does. There is a clear difference. Button bucks have some nubs and are fawns. Adult does are clearly much larger than fawns and do not have nubs. Binoculars are a very handy tool to use. Btw, this post isn't directed at anybody on here. I don't care what anybody on here does, I just know some people that hunt that do this every year. Another item: Now that Missouri is going to allow xbow use to anybody next year, everybody thinks that these things will extend your range dramatically. People that I have heard talking about using a xbow are seriously excited because they think they will be able to shoot deer much farther with these things. Damn idiots.
A button buck is bigger than a female fawn so they can look like a bigger doe. True about the buttons but some people get pretty excited when they decide and get the chance to shoot a deer even if it isn't a buck. It happens.
I can see it happening to some people maybe once or twice. There are people that I know that do it every year and swear up and down that it was a doe. They see a deer and think "kill". Anybody that has any sort of management goals or wants to shoot mature deer should be looking every deer over before they pull the trigger. There are a lot of people that pretend to want to manage a deer herd but can't stand to let a deer walk.
1# hunters on public land that dont understand that first come first serve means just that !! 2#hunters on public land that say its "their"spot becauce they hunt there every opening day. 3#people on forums that say "pub land"instead of "public land".....seriously just spell the last three letters!!!!!!!! 4#old people driving in the fast lane while going 15 below the speed limit. 5# people that spell people "ppl" 6#Florida Georgia line music!!!!!!!....Really!!...stop singing in that whining voice, its terrible.
Or when your talking to somebody and you tell them that you hunt they immediatly ask,How many bucks have you killed ? or whats the biggest buck you have killed.?...And then they judge your hunting ability/smarts on that.
When you put in hundreds of hours and some other guy decides to hunt one day and shoots a spike that you let walk and then doesn't even go try to find it. Then, a few days later shoots a big 9 point. When a guy passes deer all season and then shoots a 4 pointer near the last day because he wanted to shoot something but doesn't want the meat. When people sleep in and ride around on 4wheelers and have better luck than all of those who got up well before daylight and sit until dark When people shoot anything that walks but complain about not seeing any bucks or big deer All of these happened at our deer camp this year and just pissed me off
I can't stand when someone sits there and *****es about not having anywhere to hunt, buying all the latest and greatest gear just to say they have it and still when season rolls around they just complain about not having a place to hunt. I would understand the frustration if that was true. I have yet to ever see this person ask for permission to hunt areas, look for lease near by, or even scout a single spot of state/public land to hunt. Gave this person a 25 acre lot to hunt of a family member and he got asked to not come back after 2 years cuz he'd walk in an hour before dark and mess up the other persons hunting. Or come stomping through on days of the rut to dump corn. Got him another spot to hunt and the farmer said he can't come back cuz same thing. An hour after daylight ON OPENING DAY OF GUN SEASON gets out of his stand and walks through the woods back to his truck because he wasn't seeing anything. WTF? Learned my lesson to just ignore it and not do another favor when it comes to hunting. Some people really have an imagination when it comes to how hunting should be. Rant over. I feel better haha
