Well when you are trying to navigate and write down checkpoints while the plane is dropping and bucking it is not that fun, at least not after the first hour.

Yea I've heard that before. Honestly I'm surprised Illinois isn't right with them on gun laws. We would be if it wasn't for the ppl still fighting it. Once they get replaced or out voted tho we'll be there.

I propose we delay opening the national election day polls in CA, IL, etc until the corresponding number of days to required to buy a firearm has passed. You know, as a cooling off period. You still have the right to vote, it just won't count because the ballots will have already been counted. IL has to wait 3 days, California 10, etc.

Or maybe you really want to pray, but you have to wait X number of days to go to a house of worship so you can really think on what you want to pray about.

The Second Amendment is not a subservient right. The laws being ranted about apply to people who have already passed whatever stupid ass gun permit requirements their state has in place; and could have dozens of legal guns already sitting in their home- but still have to wait X number of days to pick up a lawfully-purchased item.

Hell, if you have a CCL you can walk in and purchase a firearm with a loaded firearm already on your person and still have to wait.

Yet, that gangbanger in the alley or at a buddies house gets instant access and no 4473 to fill out.

They don't want gun control or safer streets. They want a registration scheme to remove legal guns from the law abiding.

I guarantee if you or I were caught with a loaded firearm without a CCL or even a FOID, we would see some of the steepest fines and felony charges being pushed even with a paid attorney. Whereas a hood rat with nothing to lose would be able to get a plea deal. Community service with probation and small fine using a public defender and have another gun within hours of being released.

Damn it, I need to double up on my blood pressure meds

Just for reference what he's talking about is the 2 background checks I passed to purchase one firearm. One for the id card we're required to carry at all time while in possession of a firearm or purchase ammo and one that is filled out every time a new firearm is purchased or transferred. And no it doesn't take 3 days to be approved for either. I called back in the next day (Sunday) and was cleared but still had to wait until today to pick it up.

For anyone curious here's the item of focus. Gen 5 glock 19. [IMG]

Tragically I forgot to shut tailgate when I left the local range this afternoon and it's currently MIA. Or is it lol.

I've been wanting one for while actually but have always been able to talk myself out of not buying one whenever would go to gun shop. Always had other things to better spend money on. Walked in Saturday and all glocks were on sale until end of month so couldn't convince myself to not buy it this time. This is first glock I've owned and put 6 mags through it this afternoon. Shoots pretty nice. I'm not extremely picky with firearms, as long as it goes bang when pull trigger I'm good. One thing would maybe change is trigger tho. It's pretty smooth for factory trigger but there's really no "wall" before it crack off. But I'll wait and get some more rounds through it to see if get used to it more. And pay little more attention next time. I was pretty much just burning through ammo having fun today. Ha

Being in the Millennial generation is a struggle
The struggle is real, take the waiting period to the supreme court, I bet you would win.

Nice. I don’t yet own a handgun but I’ve considered that one to be my first.
