On the news... “Not that bad tonight, only -19.”

I will complain about this cold until Saturday when the 30 degree heat wave comes in.

Going to be a frozen hell, so sick of putting on layers to go outside. Hey Jake what do you charge to house sit? Free access to the chest freezer all the steak and venison and pork you want, liquor cabinet too and $200 cash?

Burning the hell out of the wood, probably will add wood when I wake up at my usual 3 am, then go back to bed. I really wonder why I still live here.

Already -15 here. Low of -38.
Debating on going calling coyotes in the morning?
Have done it in the past. If you can get into a good spot undetected, they can really bomb in.

had to use my heater buddy to thaw out the snowblower. Slush from earlier this AM froze rock solid.

Note to Germ's daughter. Don't expect to get out of class because of a little snow. MSU has closed school maybe 5 times for snow.

snow is one thing- highs in the negative teens and windchills in the negative 40s is another.
Snowflake generation or no; this is brutal.

I was wrong. 4 times for snow and once for wind chill.

This is what real winters are like. Growing up, we had this "polar vortex" for a couple weeks every Jan.

Not for nothing but MSU has bus service across the campus-stops by every dorm complex and education buildings.

Back to the winters you and I grew up in. Cold for a week, snow like hell when it warmed up. Rinse and repeat.

Current mood. Having to hear a pitch from a weather prognosticator, specifically one that is talking about expected hail storms this spring, aka sky diamonds. Counting eggs before they hatch.. Just change co-worker to prognosticator IMG_20181231_043641_264.jpg

they didn't wait here- right at sunup a pack of them went ape-crap right behind my house- less than 30 yards from my bedroom window.
Must've caught a rabbit. Sucks because 1) woke me up from dead sleep and I didn't fall asleep until about 2am, and 2) I had to go out with my dogs otherwise the bigger one will jump the fence after them.

I wish I had that ability everytime I here a potential customer say "Are you going to pay my deductible?" Let's see, your roof costs $12k, your deductible is $3,600.. yeah I like working just to break even... oh yeah and that's also called insurance fraud.
