No more than that you have never appreciated a hydrant more than when it is frozen. 300' of hose from the house to the stock tank. I got lucky the valve at the bottom did not crack but a month of hose to the barn sucks.

We had to carry water to the barn. Not 300' but it still wasn't fun.

I am 52 years old my kids are grown if water has to be carried I am doing it. I actually just used hose and back drained it. This leads me to another rant -25 with the windchill brought the horses in early but time to blanket them up, problem is the blankets are in the tack room and there is a big square bale in the isle way in the barn in front of the door. I have a 6' pry bar to nudge the bale enough to open the door but I had to find the damn thing. I hate winter.

I'll go in reverse order here...sorry this is a long one. You're lucky I'm sober or this would be a freaking book.

As far as hiring lawyers, most of what I have read is that several high-profile attorneys have offered their services pro-bono (read, for fame and percentage of their eventual settlement) and as far as "crisis prevention teams" I've not heard of such a thing but can you imagine what these kids are going to have to deal with for the rest of their lives? College applications, job interviews...every prospective thing they try to do with their lives they will forever be linked to this event with just a google search.

These kids had every right and as practicing Catholics even saw it as their moral obligation to attend the Right to Life rally. They also have the right to wear a hat emblazoned with the motto of a President who claims to be Pro-Life and has nominated numerous federal judges who are known to be Pro-Life or at least weigh the rights of the unborn in abortion debates/jurisprudence.

The First Amendment guarantees these kids the right to do everything they did. Even the few jackasses who whooped like Injuns and did the tomahawk chop. They're kids, and should be allowed to do and say dumb marginally insensitive but otherwise harmless things without having to worry that in the future someone isn't going to hire them or accept them into some college; much less have a mob burn down their house or shoot up their school.

The counter-protesters were also their exhibiting their First Amendment rights- I encourage them to exhibit their rights in public so that we all can see that they are whack jobs, racists, and liars.

It was the Media (all forms; social, print, and TV) and Progressives of both parties (but especially the Democrats) who are 110% in the wrong here. They wholeheartedly and enthusiastically engaged in libeling, defaming, and physically threatening these kids- and advocated that their rights be infringed upon because of their race (oh, yeah; not all were White) ideals and their clothing.

If you listen to prominent Democrat leaders and Progressive people of influence; you see that they are not only advocating that people be banned from wearing MAGA gear but also that anyone who wears MAGA gear is deserving of any harassment they get; up to and including physical confrontation. GoDuckGo search "attacked for wearing MAGA"

    https://duckduckgo.com/?q=attacked+for+wearing+MAGA&atb=v150-3__&ia=web

and you will see dozens of separate cases of just that. If you watched the real Covington video, you see and hear the vile subhuman names and insults being heaped upon a group of kids for wearing the MAGA hats. Antifa does the same crap all the time. You see media hooker Alyssa Milano all over social media and TV saying that these kids are white supremacists and that everyone who wears MAGA gear ascribes to at least some white supremacist ideals. Apparently even the black and Latino MAGA supporters are white supremacists.

There isn't a single prominent Democrat who publicly disavowed the actions of their version of these Brownshirts. These same people regularly declare MAGA/Trump supporters as "deplorable" and or less than human. This is straight out of the Nazi/Fascist playbook.

If you think these are outliers in the Democrat party, you are dead wrong. They operate at the upper echelons and increasingly are the face of the Democrat party.

It's not just Progressive politicians- it's Hollywood and the Media as well. Alyssa Milano attended the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings as the guest of Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Liberal darlings such as Bill Maher, The View hags...These are people of power and influence. "Main stream" media is increasingly transparent in their disdain and advocacy of violence against Trump supporters...CNN, ABC, NYT, and Washington Post all had prominent personalities piling on and in some cases encouraging actual physical violence against children.

    https://www.mediaite.com/online/journalists-and-celebs-rush-to-delete-tweets-slamming-maga-hat-kids/

A Disney executive producer tweeted they should be thrown "hat first" into a woodchipper, then posted a pic depicting how he thought it would look. Artistically.

Those kids took all those insults in person on the chin. They didn't complain, they didn't start fights. They chanted back, did some dumb hand signals, or in the case of the most egregiously maligned kid of all (Sandmann) stood his ground silently and stoically. It wasn't until the Professional Progressive Outrage Machine tried to destroy their lives that some fought back on the airwaves and through threatened legal actions.

While it may seem a "stretch" to say that the MAGA gear, which is worn voluntarily and with pride; is not the same as the required Star of David which Jews were forced to wear under penalty of death, consider this:

Shortly after the Nazi Party took control over Germany in 1933, they instituted a boycott of Jewish stores and Brownshirts began painting yellow Stars of David on Jewish-owned store windows (or otherwise marked them with similar signage.) Weeks later, German Jewish leaders began advocating that their people wear the same yellow yellow Stars of David as a badge of solidarity, Jewish pride, and a middle finger to the Powers That Be - which many did. It wasn't until later that certain localities under Nazi rule began requiring Jews to wear the symbols denoting their ethnicity (and not all were yellow patches; just the most commonly used method.)

The Nazis then implemented a media-led propaganda campaign where Jews were summarily accused of all sorts of things, from hoarding wealth, stealing children, being racial mongrels, anti-Science, etc; but most insidious and foremost was Jews as being sub-human. Do any of those things sound familiar? Heard them recently on CNN about anybody?

Listen to the rants of the Black Israelites against the Covington kids and what do you hear? What do you hear from Hollywood? The Media? And Democrats? That MAGA people are stupid inbred racists that hoard all the wealth, deny climate science, and take children away. Beneath contempt; and worthy of all the abuse heaped upon them. Take their money. Ridicule them. Beat them. Kill them.

By seducing the populace at large that a social/political minority was subhuman; it enabled the Nazis to eventually enact public policy to where the subhumans were first marginalized and then removed from society.

They were successful in doing so then. And the needle of history is moving towards that happening again.

It is like going to a state fair, you know how it will end but you have to go. You have not truly lived in the south until you have been to a waffle House.

I’ll go on the way back home (to mitigate the risk of food poisoning thus ruining my weekend) and report on my experience.
