My daughter will have her full drivers license in a week...goodness. life is flying by Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Insurance and a kids car, good luck with all that. My kids were 2 years apart two kids in high school each had a car all the way through college.
You know within a year or two after hemorrhaging $ you will no longer grind your teeth in your sleep, have night terrors, digestive issues, and constantly be pissed.
On my gen 4 Ram to change the headlight bulbs you have to: Remove the radiator air flow guide Remove the grill Undo 3 bolts in the front of the housing Open the flap under the wheel arch and undo another bolt at the rear of the housing Then find a child to put their hand through a mess of nonsense and pull down a small plastic lever and hope they don’t lacerate themselves. It was likely designed by someone at Chevy as a sabotage lol
My aftermarket LED headlight on one side is flickering and I’m supposed to be driving up to Alabama on Friday for a 4 day hunt and I don’t have time to get another delivered to change it. Guess I’ll be using running lights, PIAA spots and fogs for the next week!
people who drive with their spotlights on in lieu of getting their headlights replaced... my current generation F150 lights are so bright and my lift kit puts them at just the right angle that people constantly think I have my brights on. Had more than a few road ragers have to get put in their place by either a nuclear blast of real brights or even a couple times had to get out of my truck at a stop light to "explain" the situation.
Chevy is just as bad anymore. Think around 06 or 07 they changed it. We've had 3 work trucks. 08, 11, and 13, and it involves just as many steps. Used to be 2 pins and light assembly popped right out. Adding def is the dumbest thing they ever did. Unless its changed in brand new models its right next to the firewall in passenger side. Along with taking inner fender or to get to fuel filter. So I'm not sure they helped to push anyone to buy GM, unless same guy screwed with their trucks before goin to dodge. Had a 05 dodge that way when first got out of military. Lifted 9" all together, 6 suspension and 3 body, and apparently was just the right height. Got brighted all the time. Lucky for me I replaced the factory fog lamps with more of spot lights and you could pull slightly back on dimmer switch and it would turn on brights along with fog lights. That changed ppls mind pretty quick ha. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
mine's only lifted 3.5" in the front. Sitting on 35s so add a couple more. Some people go berserk; especially if I'm behind them.
Lol. I’ll use the running light and figs for general which are led so bright enough. Then when no other motorists are around and if I need I’ll use spots. I’m lifted pretty high so the fogs act like low beam headlights anyway
My 2 cents. It ain't cool to have headlights that bright. Many people ( I'm getting there myself) have a hard time seeing the road with lifted trucks and new fangled lights. Loud pipes and super Brite lights piss me off!
I agree and personally speaking my lights although all white LED, they are the same output as factory lights just a different color. I do have super bright PIAA spots but that’s for when I’m on trails or in the Everglades when it’s pitch black, never on the road. The worst offenders are the drivers who bolt on multiple rows of the cheap Chinese led light bars all over the place and drive with them on constantly
Mine were also stock. Only thing changed was spots in fog lights, which were never on unless offroad and clear lenses. Which only consisted of being clear where the turn signals are instead or amber colored. The newer bulbs are getting a little ridiculous tho. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Here's the deal with the headlights. We're no longer in the two stage halogen days. Todays headlights are about the cut off. The headlights are the same brightness on dim as they are on bright. The difference is the "eyelid" shutter that folds up or down to change from dim to bright. Changing the ride height of the vehicle changes where that "cutoff" line is located. Raise the front end to "level" the height of your truck changes the front height of the truck 2 inches but the projection of the "cutoff" is raised higher at distance. Mark the cut off at ride height before raising the front and then lower that cut off after the lift
