Got off the plane last night at 10:00 it was 2 degrees. Got home at 11:30 go inside and the house was 50 degrees. 11 hours earlier I was wearing shorts and a t shirt fishing. Why do I continue to live in Minnesota during the winter?

LOL. I hear ya! Back when I was in the Air Force, I came back from Honduras after 3 months. It was 87 when I left and 6 when I arrived in Colorado Springs and it was the end of a snow storm that dropped 22 inches. I missed 3 big storms that totaled over 60 inches while I was gone.
Was this guy responding in his normal response area? I appreciate EMT's but working fire over the years I have worked with fire fighters that were also EMT's on duty with me in my engine that day that they were fire response that shift not a roving ambulance crew. I had one chuckle head that insisted on bringing his own medical pack and loading it in the engine. The second time he attempted to load his pack I said hell no get it off MY engine, he refused. I took the keys out locked the doors and compartments. Contacted the fire program manager that I had an EMT that refused to unload his pack from the engine. I was asked why is this a problem, the chuckle head had an oxygen bottle in his pack. Strap that on the top of wild land fire rig what could possibly go wrong? The guy hated me after that, thing is he was a bag of spare parts that was worthless and weak. He washed out before the season was over.
Booking my flight for next week first trip of 19. I have trips scheduled till June not including the trips that come up on short notice. I will not be home for more than 10 days straight including the weekends from now till Mid June.
I moved south (from upstate NY) 30 years ago...my guess it's family and your farm are what keep you there now (though I know it was probably rhetorical). Tony had previously had the same rant, yet continues to stay in Western NY. My wife and I have been trying to reach an agreement on where next. Like you, a major airport reasonably close by is a need, but I'm looking for that place where I also wouldn't mind retiring...
No he was far from his normal response area. So he was basically just a concerned passer by. As for your situation, that guy just sounds like a idiot. My parents were fortunate enough to be in position to buy when the down turn happened in 2008. They are in a gated community on an island with a park reserve a mile outside the gates. I love the outdoor kitchen and laid back area that is Snead Island.
