With the introduction of things like: Yelp, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, narcissism is at an all time high for certain.

if you have to ask that you're part of the problem.
so according to CNN; all those "refugees" from Guatemala and El Slavador should be heading to Honduras, Nicaragua, or Costa Rica; rather than this hateful bigoted non-inclusive rat hole known as the USA.

Oh trust me, after a half bottle of wine I let them their yelpers know what I really thought of them, hopefully it makes their pathetic attempt at being relevant when they review the place.

like anything it can be abused but I regularly use yelp, google, or Amazon (when I used Amazon) reviews to help me decide what services to use. And yes, I will leave a bad or good review if something was noteworthy on either end of the good/bad spectrum.

Having previously worked in the food/bar service industry for many years, I can tell you plenty of customers held waitstaff hostage before the advent of yelp, etc.

Speaking of, here's an old rant:

when you are part of a large party at a bar or restaurant, try to help your waiter out by requesting refills, add ons, etc en mass rather than one at a time. Nothing worse as a waiter than getting one re-fill for one person, delivering it, getting another order from the same table, and on and on. You monopolize their time and energy and take those resources away from other customers. Your average restaurant only has maybe 10 waitstaff for every 60-80 or so potential customers.

I was out the other night table of 10 of us. The waitress might want to check with the table on refills before she leaves to get the refill.

from that CNN article that VS posted:

Hawaii's no. 1 ranking has a lot to do with its racial diversity.

Seventy-five percent of people in Hawaii are non-white or biracial. Colleen Hanabusa and Tulsi Gabbard, the state's representatives in the US House, are both women of color, and Sen. Mazie Hirono is of Japanese descent. It also has the country's highest percentage of nonwhite state legislators.

"If you think about Hawaii, which has a very multiethnic population, I'd say that the report accurately captures the degree to which people of various different ethnic origins are participating in the economy," said Camille Busette, a senior fellow for the Brookings Institution. "That suggests inclusivity."

biggest load of hor$e$4it I have ever read!!! Hawaii has such a high percentage of non-whites because......drumroll please: COLONIALISM! Hawaii was only recently colonized by non-native Hawaiians. The large majority of these immigrants were Japanese and Chinese; not white.

People tend to vote along racial lines. So a state in which whites are a super minority is more likely going to be represented in government by....non-whites.

What an idiot. It's actually the OPPOSITE of "inclusivity". It's anti-minority.

sure the server has some responsibility; but I can't tell you how many times I asked "does anyone else need anything" before I left to get something only to return and get another request for something else.

believe it or not some people like to think you are their personal servant for that period of time. They take sadistic pleasure in running your butt off. Probably like those "yelpers" in the OP.

I guess what pisses me off is that they think bc they are going to write a review that they somehow deserve to be the center of the restaurants attention. They ordered the cheapest wine by the glass and plates on the menu, if you cant really afford to eat at a place should you really review it? The bottle of Shiraz I ordered was probably older than either of them and five times more than their entire check and the female asked why they poured it in that special glass, the decanter. So basically, inexperienced diners with little to no money, taste or comparable experiences some how can write a review. Horsechips, yelp can suck it.

Several years ago my mother in law decided to buy my then 4 year old a puppy for Christmas without consulting us. Her reasoning? She knew we would say no.

10 years later and I still hold a grudge and our relationship never recovered

You didnt say if you kept the puppy. Sorry but you're stuck with the mother in law.

My mother in law offered her opinion on something after the fact and she was told to mind her own f ing business. Boy was she shocked. My father in law just laughed and told her that is what she deserved.

    Been 30 peaceful years since...

I did. Still have it 10 years later - we didn’t know about it until the moment she gave it to my daughter and it was too late to say no then. I was livid then and still makes me angry today

Rant for today is on two things.

1st- don’t be some a$$hat and drink and drive you have a strong possibility to ruin many lives

2nd- Even if you’re a first responder don’t stop and get out at a accident if you’re in a personal vehicle. You put yourself at risk by getting involved.

I will stop if I see something happen and cal it in. But you will not catch me out of my truck. You have no way to make yourself visible to others or anyway to protect yourself. Plus what can you really do for someone without any kind of supplies? Make the call and get the people moving that can help.

This all stems from a local man that was struck and killed last night. This could’ve been avoided because of multiple things. Very sad story to start the new year but just think things through and be aware of your surroundings.

    One of my top gripes:
People that list something for sale but refuse to list the asking price. I mean really? Tell me what you're asking or I won't even bother to call da. I'm a cheap sob...I don't want to waste my or anyone elses time, calling to ask for a price on something someone wants to get rid of. If you're too gd'ed embarrassed to list the price because you know you're too high then either don't sell it or list it at a reasonable price.
