Yep. I remember being 10 and 11 and watching my 7 and 8 yr old brother all summer long. Both parents at work all day. We would be out of the house running around nearly all day. No one said a word and we grew up just fine. Americans are funny. If they watched a show on Native Americans and it showed little kid 5 to 7 years of age running around hunting, fishing, and watching their younger siblings during dangerous activities, then people would accept that. new rant... my local Cumulus radio station app just went to a subscription service-only platform. So I can listen in my car for free and not be tracked, but not on my phone. Efffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
My sister and I were latchkey kids and by the time we turned 9 we were expected to be proficient in how we used our gap time between school and mom getting home. The alternative involved not being able to sit or more chores on top of chores. Needless to say, I never had time to sit down with all those chores so I had that going for me. However, it is a different world today than it was in the early eighties. So many more distractions, creeps and accessibility to drugs. Do I think it's right what they doing to that mom, hell no. I was more p.o'd she gets crucified for leaving her kids safe in their own home while people are screeching about kids being removed from parents at the border when these adults knowingly and willingly put their kids through literal hell in getting here illegally. Illegally entering this country anywhere along the southwest border is insanely dangerous for an adult, much less a kid. It is literal child endangerment. The should charge every damn parent caught illegally entering with their children with felony child abuse/endangerment.
Was booking the tickets to Tampa this morning forgot I had two Delta e-credits that equaled $1400 from business travel reservation changes. I didn't tell Mrs Sota that we will be riding up front. 2 first class tickets to Tampa for $700 not too shabby. I also used points for a hotel, I love my mother but I am not staying at the family compound when my siblings are there with their kids.

River levels are high enough to flood all our club roads for weeks. Deer season is effectively over for me. Can't even get on the property to pull my stands. The good news is no one's home is getting flooded, however.

Ans to equate making millions and being treated by the best doctors, best physical therapists, nutrisionists, etc., to slavery...well that is terribly inappropriate and inflammatory.
