I am actually less bitter hell I hated Christmas for years so stressful, this year I am chill. Could be the fact I am done hemorrhaging $ to get my kids thru college married etc.

A frigging wall. This world has gone nuts. People will just take boats, planes, trains, whatever to get in....drop cocaine bundles from the sky, submarines to bring in drugs from those crap head drug lords in Mexico. What a crap hole of a country.
The wall is not supposed to be the end all be all solution. It will simply help cut off one of their main avenues of bringing drugs/people in. We can focus on fighting the other things you mention once it is in place.

In the biz, the term is "sticky". Same paradigm for mobile and web... the better the experience the longer they linger, the more they linger the more impressions (+transaction and behavioral intelligence can be collected), more impressions gets you closer to revenue... which was the missing element to FB at the start...once they went public they had to monetize. But, I get it.
The economic cycle, based on prior precedent, should hit bottom in 2021. If this holds true, this should just be a bear market (I'm betting with a 'dead cat bounce' possibly 4q19 or 1h20) before the floor falls out in 2021. Though the technical definition is 2 consecutive negative quarters...so 3q or 4q20 could be the start of the fall into 2021. Pulling out my old Alan Greenspan t-shirt, 2017 & 18 may have been a good bit of "irrational exuberance"...but I'm also thinking the Fed over accelerated on the rate increases (see inverted yield curve). Ok kids I'm putting away my nerd and financial beanies now. Thank God I've got a couple days to sit in the woods coming up.
