I missed the WK thread. That's awesome. I am not a cat fan but that would change my mind. Long as he stayed outside.

That's an awesome pic, Germ. Looks cold up there in the land of Bob Seger. Brrrr. I think it's mid-sixties here in Hurr'cane Alley.

    Not a rant. Just whining.

I had ankle surgery to remove a problem extra bone. It was getting really hard for me to get around. Went on a Search and Rescue and hiked in about two miles in some really steep stuff and realized if I didn't head back, I would need rescuing myself. So, I opted for surgery. Especially after the Doc looked at the xray and said "Yeah, that's really bad". Lol

So last monday they cut off the extra bone and the big tendon attached to it... sutured the tendon to some screws and shot the screws into the part of my ankle bone where the tendon was supposed to be attached all along. Easy peasy.

I knew I would be laid up... but dang, it's only a week and I'm already trying to figure how to hobble out through the sagebrush and call coyotes. Everyone posting hunting pictures online isn't helping. :D

Also, crutches suck. I do have this thing called an Iwalk2.0 that is like peg-leg and it works pretty good. I hobble around the house with all the grace of a disabled penguin... but at least I get around. Kind of.

It has given me quite a bit of empathy for all those who are laid up for long periods of time or just can't walk at all. You guys are tougher than me.

Only seven more weeks to go......

On the upside, the doctor gave me my bone pieces. I forsee a charm anklet in the future. Heh.[IMG]

Getting called to take someone to the emergency room at 4 in the morning for vomiting and diarrhea, when the issue has been going on for over 12 hours! Please for the love of god call earlier in the day.

LFTS a few days ago. He thought he was dying but apparently just needed to poop.

To clarify; I am not criticizing. I've been there.

 I didn't have that and I drove myself.

Still dreading to see the bill for what turned out to be a false alarm but it was on the right side of my abdomen and a few on here mentioned appendix, then a friend had his removed before it burst back in Sept.

Got all kinds of paranoid

Back when I worked for ERs, 'having to poop' was a fairly common reason for people to come in.

Sometimes the doctor has to *digitally disimpact* the rectal vault. The doctor does not get paid extra to do that. Lucky them.

I know how it always turns out. If I don't go it ends up being I should have went a lot sooner, and when I do go, I should have waited just a little longer and let it pass.

I was in doubling over pain for a solid 5 hours. Still don't know what it was, release papers just said it was undiagnosed. Never had a pressure realease in any form
