Ewe, that is irritating. I've had a flu shot twice in my life and got nailed with the flu both times immediately following it. The Dr. can scream and yell BS on that all he wants but he can kiss off, it's totally fact. I've not had a shot since the mid 90's and haven't had a cold or flu in at least 15 years. I limit my interaction with people and I believe in Airborne and I keep antibiotics back when I can from everything from vet visits to ear infections or kidney infections (I fight kidney stones quite a lot). Yeah yeah...I know...they preach to take all your RX's and don't keep any back....eff'em...I do as I wish....another rant...another day. I get to feeling like airborne isn't enough and I'll take an antibiotic in one large dose. I've done that about five or six times in the last 15 years or so. I've been to several farm shows and ag conventions and everything in between. I wash my hands and I have a large zone of personal space.

The amendment WAS intended to give citizenship (section 1) to the newly freed slaves-no one else. Had they worded it to include all persons born on US soil, the native tribes would have been citizens. They were to be, by design (section 2), excluded and considered sovereign nations. The wording, subject to the laws....was used to exclude diplomats as they did not nor have had to adher to US law. They can do what they want when they want and US law does not apply to them. They can't be prosecuted only expelled. Subsequent ruling on this amendment (in part) also gave citizenship to military members who had children while serving first in US territories and then elsewhere. At the time of the writing of this amendment, our borders were open. ALL were welcome. The authors never dreamed that there would be such a thing as illegal immigration. Written words (and at times spoken words) were used in a far more formal tone than words and text of today. It simply took more words to get to the same core idea. Basically, we have the law of unintended consequences in play here. Do I agree that the children of the uninvited should be denied citizenship? Yes. Do I think Trump can issue an executive order to override a constitutional (however whacky it seems in today's world) amendment? No. Further, the federal government has allowed certain states to usurp the power of the federal government by granting citizen status for educational purposes. . The federal government needed to step into this issue years ago but no president wanted to kick that hornets nest. That has opened the door for the children of illegals to get citizenship. This is going to take a calculated step by step approach to reverse. This is going to be viewed as a pre election stunt-Trump being Trump. It's all about him. If he really cared about ending this, he should shut his mouth and order the Justice dept to get to work.
I have another rant. I am tired of my wife coming home from work stressed, pissed off, depressed and sad. She is at a school for 4th-6th grades. Yesterday the police liaison was at school by 9:00 am, they are not allowed to call them police, the teachers and aids are not even allowed to restrain a violent kid, or a kid acting out, hell they can't even yell and get in a kids face and the kids know it.
I always find it funny that the jack wagons on the crotch rockets the furthest forward body part is the drivers head, wonder why so many of those bike crashes end in death.
I had a prisoner on the way to jail about 5 years ago. Two crotch rocket guys pull up next to me and start revving it up. Light turns green and they speed off 100mph. Half mile down the road I see a motorcycle torn to shreds and one rider laid out in the middle of the road with some nasty road rash. Blocked the roadway and waited for another officer since I had a prisoner. Told the other officer what I saw. In my younger days I lived not to far from an entertainment district full of bars. When the bars let out at 2am the bikers would go out and start their bikes by revving them up for what seemed an eternity. I get it, those db have some sorta need for more attention than a teenage girl. I went to a city council meeting and the next weekend the police passed out somewhere north of twenty tickets.
