That was the gist of my post. When cost of production for new steel goes down, supply of new steel goes up demand for recycled steel goes down. Oh, and more jobs are available giving more people more economic opportunity and making people less hard-pressed to be scrappers. Everyone wins. Except lazy scumbags who would steal your scrap steel. That timeframe is 4 years prior to the current president's term...and which started trending downward right after the beginning of BHOs second term...huh.
