What a read! He spotted a deer from over 3/4 of a mile away, knew it was a nice buck and then stalked it close enough to put it in bow range without it moving off! Amazing! All kidding aside, it takes about 20 minutes to walk a mile at normal pace (3mph) so lets say that he was taking it slow for the 1310 yds that he walked (45 minutes) and then crawled slowly to not make any noise for the last 150yds (15 more minutes) and he ended up 40yds from that buck after an hour of moving toward it...I call shenanigans!

I thought his greatest achievement was

"funny because I actually thought he was a 14 point at that distance".

Opossums did that, not a pet dog. Grey skull isn't a He-Man thing, it's a "been dead for awhile" thing.

    43360701_173942960184855_9026141026883993600_n.jpg

Then after that, he got on a big 12 for his friend. Bet it was a small 6

    "
just yesterday i took a friend out who has never killed a deer with a bow but has the drive to do so i got him within 30-40 yards of a massive 12 point but due to our position and the location he chose to bed down even glassing the terrain could not see him and only did so after walking right past him."

    rant- craigslist tire kickers.

    https://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/spo/d/assorted-tree-stands-and-tree/6719500463.html

I've had this ad up for 3 weeks; had a few bites that seemed like scams or jacks- but 2 guys did call me directly; obviously they were real hunters and were specific about what they were interested in. Set up times to come and check out the gear. Both of them claimed to be local (gave enough specifics so that I was pretty sure not lying) and I got all the items down and all laid out so they could easily check it. I was definitely ready to deal and told them as much so long as they showed up.

Needless to say, neither showed. One postponed and said he'd try to reschedule in a couple days; I texted him back 3 days later and he replied saying that he had bought something different in the interim; and the other re-scheduled for the following weekend only to call and postpone; saying he would call again during the week after and never called again.

I don't care if I sell this stuff; it's money already spent and I just hate to see it sit in my shed collecting dust. I'm certainly not trying to make a profit on this- it's all good prices and obviously I'm negotiable.

WTF is wrong with people? It takes a special kind of mental illness to jerk someone around like that. I hope both of them get the Philippina clap.

Do you have the article still for sale? I will send you the sales amount plus another 200 for shipping. I don't know the actual shipping costs so please refund any amount left over....

    Dnoodles, you got me.
There's no post workout food like deer face.

    :D

Germ, the green monster is the park vehicle. Because nothing screams 'official vehicle' like a day glo green roller paint job on an ancient beater.

I was told the buck grossed in the low 180s. The pictures don't do it justice, so I can believe it.

I didn't keep the rack, I gave it to a white guy who gut shot a buck with a shotgun. I figured giving him this one was fair, like hunting affirmative action.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I bought a glendel buck off a nice young fellow's post on CL a couple months back and he said he'd been jerked around by so many people. He was kinda' shocked I called back, set up a meeting pronto, showed up on time with cash in hand. LOL.

I would tend to agree with that statement.

The worse ones are the ones who show up, you make the deal and they don't have any money, or not enough to pay in full, with them. then, you get the "will you hold it until..."

Sure I will. IF you leave me a deposit of $xx. I will hold it until 4 PM on xxxxx. That weeds them out real fast.

And every time someone pointed out the unrealities of his story, he'd have another yarn spinning faster than a caterpillar.

I sold a travel trailer on Craig's list, I got the weirdest calls. My mom's house burnt down, my mom is getting evicted. All wanted me to "hold" the trailer for them. I simply replied whom ever shows up first with cash gets it.

I also sold a 13 year old Ford Focus and you would have thought I was selling crack cocaine. It ran, barley and the clutch was going. I got so many calls and people out bidding each other, lol.

I'm just disappointed to see in another post he spelt "regrets" correctly. Why you ask? Because he is a tattoo artist and I think spelling it "regrats" and having it tattooed permanently is a profound statement.

Good point! Reminds me of the candy bar commercial. "Regerts????" "Uh, I was eating a Milky Way." :)
