If Hillary Clinton would have won you don't think the GOP would do whatever it takes to stop her nominations? In this current climate?

Do you think any of you would have railed against the witness like Ford if the roles were reversed? Be honest with yourself, we are ALL part of the problem.

I believe what started a lot of this was the passing of the Affordable Care Act and how that went down.

There is no give and take anymore.

It's only going to get worse, when you sit on the fence you get the view of the lunacy on both sides.

Ford's life is ruined, and for what? Kav life is ruined and he has no way to defend himself, because people don't actually look at things objectively anymore.

Senator Graham is correct, we all know if it was reversed he would be on the other side, that's the issue and we all know it.

Look at the national debt Trump's going to beat Obama for this fiscal year, I had no idea that was possible, what do we hear from these staunch fiscal conservatives..................., yep crickets.

If we keep electing the same people in congress, will have the same issues. Stand up and vote them all out, or just sit back and accept the lunacy.

Conservatism by its very definition is antithetical to evil. Not saying that all Republicans are truly conservative but true conservatives fight evil, they do not ally with it. True Conservatives do not seek nor abuse power once power is obtained. For conservatives power is a means to an end, not the end itself. The current Democrat party embraces evil and suckles power from the Devil's teat.

    It boils down to this-
Conservatives would use government power and structure to keep others from trespassing on my property and my beliefs. To assist me in the conservation thereof.

Liberals would use the same government power and structure to force me to allow others to trespass on my property and my beliefs.

That is perverse. It is evil.

Lets try a rant that's not politically charged.

I hate people who drop off animals on the side of the road. We picked up 3 baby kittens today on a side road in the middle of no where. Skin and bones. Brought them home, gave them some food, and will take it upon ourselves to find them homes or bring them to a rescue.

The problem with voting them out is getting the large cities to do it.

Madigan has been destroying IL for as long as I have been alive, yet come November Chicago and East St. Louis will once again give us a Democratic governer. Rauner somehow took IL from rich and prosperous to unpaid bills and the worst credit rating in history in a single term. Just ask the Dems. solidly in control.

I've said for years this state needs some sort of electoral college type set up to give the state an equal voice. The entire state is red except for the NE amd SW corners being blue. Yet they control the entire process here. Madigan has redrawn the districts in such a way that there is no way to get a Republican majority in either chamber. When the people achieve the necessary signatures to get theings like term limits amd redistricting on the fall ballot he somehow challenges and wins getting it removed.

Only reason Rauner got in was due to the Democrats ousting Quinn, it definitely was not a red wave here. If Madigan wanted Quinn to win he would have, but IMO they needed a sacrificial lamb to shift the focus and blame to the other side.

I don't think Ford's life is ruined at all. She's now a hero to the left. "Braver than any US marine"

    She'll be financially rewarded too.

For someone who tries to ruin someone else's life with a totally baseless claim, she comes out smelling like a rose.

Also, what was up with those glasses? Were they a prop? Who has glasses that dirty?

Can I ask something... What is this trial about and why does it concern us? Why are people so worked up about it?

Disclaimer: I actually try to distance myself from anything and everything political. I have 0 knowledge of what this thing is about or why it's a big deal, but it certainly is a big deal. I know a person with a first or last name of Ford is involved and thats the extent of what I know.

Why is this such a huge deal to US?

An accusation by Ford of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The complaint was sent to Feinstein late July, and was held until the day before the condirmation hearing and leaked to the media.

Would everyone in here be in this much of a tizzy if that supreme court judge nominee was a democrat? Or would you be on the other side because it fits your political agenda?

Google learned me a few things. Playing Devils advocate for just one post.

I don't get the whole political go fund me fad that's been going on. People just start them I believe without the person its benefiting even knowing. Micheal Cohen had a go fund me page started by some random person. Why should we fund that criminal. Why should we fund this chick? I'm sure there are a lot of people who start go fund me pages for things like paying for cancer treatment, paying for kids surgery, paying for a home that's been destroyed. Help them, not these idiots who already have money.

There is multiple on there last time I checked. This is not my screen capture.

She did mention it during her testimony yesterday, said she wasn't sure how to get it yet. Think it was around the time when she was being questioned by the Republican brought in prosecutor about who was paying for things and if she has received anytging during this.

    The answer is yes.

Plain and simple there is a political and ideological divide in this country on many levels. Worst its ever been probably.

For many, the 2016 election became all about Justice Scalia's death. I know it was my number one concern. Once Justice Kennedy announced his retirement it sent the left into a frenzy because the scales of the SCOTUS would be shifted for a long period. Should something happen to Ginsburg in the next 2 years and the constitution is back in our country for decades to come.

It's not just about Roe Vs Wade for the left, it is about losing their clutch on turning the country into their way of life.

The fight is for the highest court in the land, both sides fear it falling into the others grips.

I don't think the republicans would have issued passes to the proceedings to protesters. Can't say for sure if they would have held onto issues till the last moment either.
