We ran into wet fields during cotton harvest last year and it's looking to be the same this year as well. Definitely have enjoyed the wetter late summer and fall but man does it ever make for a stressful harvest.

Seems like last two years we have late rain that came too late to help the crops but made harvesting difficult.

Now I usually stay out of the political discussions but I guess I have more or less a question or 3.

I read Ford supposedly passed a polygraph. I realize that the polygraph can be influenced by the way the questions are asked. Did any of that get brought up at the hearing? Should a transcript of that test be made available to at least the committee? Should the nominee be asked to also take one as he vehemently denies the accusations?

Not sure but the 4 witnesses all said it did not happen the way Ford said it did.

Polygraphs are not admissible in Federal court and can easily be manipulated. If she truly believes that is was him then she will pass. If he becomes nervous during questioning but is innocent the polygraph results could show he is lying and because he is unable to calm his nerves. They are junk.

We've had 28.3" since May 1st; our 'growing season'. 33" since January 1st. Average precip here for a year is 27". We had just under 7" last week. Harvest is supposed to be the most enjoyable part of the year but it sure sucks worrying about mud the whole time. We're going to try to start beans after dinner today so wish us luck.

Has to suck when a combine gets stuck. Wait though just to clarify is dinner lunch because you will miss supper because you are in the fields or is dinner supper eaten after during the 6:00 news? Up where I live dinner is supper eaten in a restaurant, at home it is supper unless it is Sunday afternoon or evening then it is Sunday Dinner.

Okay, time for a non political rant. My wife, maybe we should just make a "things my wife does thread". So even though our house is not on the market we have been receiving unsolicited offers on it. It is a historic home and I am a kick ass contractor so it looks great. We decided to entertain a ludicrous offer that we would be dumb for passing up. So they are coming do a walk through on Saturday. My rant, I came home last night to find 3/4 of my trophies hanging in the living room on the floor with the directions to go store them so my wife and her sister could redecorate. I'm beginning to believe the offer is fake and arranged by her in order to girly up the decor and get rid of my taxidermy.. rant over. 20180928_091724.jpg 20180928_091755.jpg

No I would not. Then again people asking me questions about my behavior my years in college would not be able to be talked about on network television.

Luck, a prayer and wishing on a shooting star will get me no where on this one. My dads marriage advice is that little voice in my head on this one, "choose your battles wisely".

How is her life screwed? She's a liberal hero and likely has a book deal. She'll probably run for Congress next round. Bet.

Not before this side show circus. But going forward, yes. Even Lindsay warned Dems yesterday..."When you see Justices Kagan and Sotomayor, tell them I said 'hello'. I voted for them."
And so did a majority of Repubs, if I recall correctly.

I think the Senate Republicans finally woke up to the fact that Dems will literally do anything to get and keep power. Including upending the entire legal system to do it. It was not only appalling but actually frightening that so many prominent Dems were all over media actually putting the burden of proof on the accused. Chilling. These people and their ideology and methodologies are pure evil. Evil.

    Hopefully the next AG.
