Same. My post was more for the message and not calling anyone out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why exactly are you brining shoes back to the store that you've already paid for and will get no money back for and some 14 year old kid will just stare blankly at you and have no idea what you are doing or talking about and throw them in the trash the second you leave ?
3+% stock hit? Throw a couple hundred bps atop and people start getting fired... No. They bet, and bet wrongly (according to the market).
I think they knew there would be buzz...skepticism and polarization, sure. However you never would sell a (competent) board on taking a loss of 4B...voluntarily (without threat of litigation or a greater down side risk). With 81% institutional holding of Nike's the stock, tomorrow will be telling.
I ended up on the other side of town; but will make the stop tomorrow on my way in. I'll be out a very pro-rated portion of $200. (There was another pair I forgot about and not in the pic.) Big whoopty poop. It's more about the statement and promise to no longer give them any more of my money than the money already spent. Apparently I am not anywhere near alone- over $4 billion stock loss for Nike today.
[QUOTE="MnHunterr, post: 1442114, member: 20184" Extreme comparison: There are 300 Catholic priests accused of molesting children in PA. Why aren’t we boycotting the Catholic Churches, etc? Pot = Stirred Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTE] Trump hasn't told them to be mad about that yet.
Done and done. Oh, and I find it extremely ironic that the same week this Chicago-diocese Cardinal Cupich a-hole claims that there isn't a homosexual*/pederast abuse problem in the Catholic Church https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/t...ia-vigano-pope-francis-letter-sex-misconduct/ he has this problem drop in his....er....lap: https://miami.cbslocal.com/2018/09/04/priests-arrested-miami-beach-sex-acts-in-car/ * again, I don't care who anyone is attracted to. But the Catholic Church supposedly does....unless it's a member of their hierarchy.
I knew the catholic church was not for me when my catholic girlfriend suggested we give up sex for lent. She was a nut job piece of work.
Nike thought they were immune from the same thing causing empty seats in stadiums. Taking the high road while having their products made in sweat shops, what principals.
Exactly. And most of the people they exploit are people of color. We have such a stupid society these days. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Again... Why not find a charity that supports/helps homeless veterans to give those shoes to? Why must you return them to a store/employees that have 0 bearing on anything to do with this situation? No one in that store cares what you support defeating the purpose of “making a statement.” Obviously I’m not going to change your mind, but will continue to suggest you do something useful with the Nike products you have. The first man movie not including planting the flag on the moon, and say it was seen as a human achievement not a US achievement as a country. Good god hollywood is a sickening bunch of sexual deviants.
We could do this with any product. Americans, including myself, are seriously wasteful. Now that someone wants to exercise their freedoms and take a product they bought and make a statement, now people want to bring up using Nike shoes for homeless people. How dare right wingers make a statement without first consulting with whackos and then donate their darn $12 Nike shoes that have been sweat shopped and labor shipped overseas marked up to $199. Come on....I'm not disagreeing with you that people can donate. I'm just so tired of all this bs coming from 30 to 50 yr old adults these. Weenieville America. The politicization of everything. The manipulation of the people by the media and the political extremists is sickening. I hope the reasonable people in this country prevail. If not we are f'ed. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
