I was gone for work the last 8 days I just wanted to get home and sleep in my own bed. Thunderstorm and the 3 little yappers break down the dogroom gate, evidently thunder and lighting are less scary when they are all in bed with my wife and I.
Our dog is the worst with thunder/lightning. Non stop panting and HAS to be in our room. Cannot be in any other bed than ours. Was up until 330 because of her. There was some intense cloud to ground lightning bolts around 3am.
I was shocked the TV and wifi worked this morning, the house in on on a ridge and we had some close hits last night.
Finally got some rain so I figure I would put some clover seed in the thin spots on the food plot. Of course we got the torrential rain fall and washed the seed to the low side of the plot.
Well the drought is over, after last nights storm I also believe all the acorns are now out of the trees. Lost a huge old red oak up in the pasture.
I havent't seen this many acorns drop from the trees in a long long time. There are sections of road where oaks are overhanging and the road is straight brown from all the crushed acorns.
Ebners bait in Elk River is closing down, sad as hell I have bought bait there for over 30 years. Some people just giving up working in their 80's? No it was run by a woman after her husband died I feel she more than deserves a break and retirement.
All is not lost I do have some clumps of thick sprouts but I don't think I will have to reseed taking back my rant.
When your weather app tells you there’s only a couple chances for rain the next couple weeks so you think it’s safe to sneak a camera under a bridge in the creek bottom to see what’s using it as a funnel and two days laters it downpours 50% of the day.
