The MN DNR has released it's first statewide deer plan. They want to end recreational deer feeding to prevent the possible spread of disease. The disease out breaks in Minnesota have been from deer farms not feeding.

Negative. No bait, no minerals, and no natural scents. I hunt in Montcalm; and I think we went from appx. 0 known cases of CWD in '15, 11 in '16, to 37 in '17. Something like that. But I'm pretty sure I saw a CWD infected deer at a processors in 2012 or 13. Mature buck but very emaciated.

My family's been hunting that area for over 20 years and it looks like between some anticipated logging activity on state land and disease this will be the last year. I'm not even taking my normal two week straight Buckation; going to spread out several four and five day weekends mostly in other states.

I stand corrected after reading Germ's link. As of now, those restrictions only apply to the CWD zone, although what had I read in the proposed changes earlier this year applied to all of the lower peninsula. Those additional regulations/restrictions won't be finalized until sometime here in August.

It does not bother me about the feeding as much as just ignoring the true source of disease in the deer herd. I have no idea why the deer farming industry is never held responsible, nothing good has come out of farming deer. It is a ponzi scheme.

A couple near us just brought in about 20 deer in a tiny enclosed area (with a few albinos). God forbid anything like this escapes.

I went to school with the guy that runs the local feed mill, I talked to him about deer farming years back he said that he had 3 customers that raised deer on a small operation. 2 of the were were killed by a buck they were raising I was severely injured. Stupid mistakes I guess you don't go into a buck pen without it sedated and have heard that sedating deer usually does not go that well.

I wish it was more of an acceptable practice to scream at customers, who need it, like I was Sam Kinison and not have any repercussions.

I hunt just east of Edmore. Last year was a dud for me; had a couple of really nice bucks on camera at night (including one that went at least 145) but nothing wearing antlers at all on the hoof in daylight. My cousin did drop a really nice 8 (maybe 125" 3yo) on Nov 7. Only deer he saw over 2yo all season.

I have a good rant today. Yesterday I went over to the neighbors house to do some saw work for him, took down some trees and hauled 3 pickups full of wood to my place. I got done and I was not sore at all, matter of fact it felt like I had my turbo back. It is amazing will see how long it lasts.

Yep, went from paying $2.39/gallon at home to paying $3.89/gallon because of that law. Stupid, if you are incapable or unwilling to pump your own gas, you are not an adult.

Haven't had a backyard this small in 15 yrs. Nor have I lived this close to people in a long time. Adjustment. But the wife loves the neighborhood and so do the kids so that makes me happy.
