Sota, I got out of the rat race. Rats kept winning. Left sales and worked in a local factory. Put in my 8 hours and forget about the job until 7 AM the next day.

I get acid reflux myself these days. Especially eating tomato soup or red pasta sauce.

So the neutralizer for acid is alkaline. I bought alkaline water. Once I feel the acid burning and churning I down me a glass of Eternal Natural Spring alkaline water and in a 1/2 hour or so That acid is neutralized.

Been there, done that. I got out of the rat race as the rats kept winning. Got a factory job through a temp agency that entailed plain ol' manual labor. Go to work, work, go home and forget about the job.

When you get up have a cup of coffee and look at the patio and think well we didn't get that much freezing rain, then you go out to the truck and there is a thick graze of ice and the doors are froze shut. Oh sure I could grab the spare fob and start the truck to thaw it but oh yeah the spare fob will not start the truck when the other fob is in the damn truck. Don't you get pissed when you cause your own suffering?:bigcry:

Well unfortunately in my situation I do not have the option of quitting or retiring. I am family. I do say I manage it must better now than I have in the past. 2 years ago I was on BP meds, anxiety meds and they said my liver was dying. I am no longer on any medication at all and will learn the results of my latest scan next week. I know I am better. My point is we used to be a smaller company and I have preached redundancy for the last 5 years. We need more than one person who knows how to fill a position at the business. I will be 60 end of May it is time to train others to do my job, plus it can be a growth position for an employee.

Tax assessments we just had new ones arrive. Now hubbie and I are on 4, he has one, camp and I'm on two with son..
All of them have gone up. It ticks me right off !! why?

We have ONE woman assessor doing the property assessments for NINE counties. How she does her "job" she looks at a computer screen and goes buy local sales. She does not look at actual property owners files. We have disputed her assessments multiple times on two properties and the house. This house and the " Woods " property. We've actually had the town board reprimand her publicly, stating, Did you ever step foot on their place?" Nope never. She has the deed restrictions and land photos for the Woods property. The fact it can not ever have a building lot assessment and it is 1/3 swamp and half steep hill with 4 cascading streams that feed a local lake. Plus under a federal forestry test site agreement. She has to yet changed the dimension of our garage which they listed twice the size it is.
She forces huge lines of ppl in each town having to go to grievance hearings. Many of us with private assessments and many with lawyers.
It should be illegal for her to be allowed to assess such a large area.

They all love her, towns/counties, because far too many ppl just won't or in these areas can't afford to fight them. Hell, our assessor has been sending us Christmas calendars for years. He's dumb founded each and ever time we have to call him.

No actually some how the assessment went up yet taxes went down a little.
That said, The nasty "T" governing this state has a bunch up little tricks up her sleeve in-store for us all this year. I'm sure the counties, thus town taxes will have to increase

So like I posted in the fishing thread, my son in law and I had a great two days fishing Monday and Tuesday.

At around 5:00 pm Tuesday I hit a stump with my trolling motor. No big deal, right? Yeah it is. I got a "Steering Bound" message. I checked everything, turned it off and back on. "Steering Bound" message again and again. So, we locked it down and left the lake.

I just put this Garmin Force Pro on my boat in August last year. I've only used it maybe 20 times. I've searched the web and tried everything anyone, including Garmin, says to try.

I guess I'm going to have to call customer support and wait for hours in hopes that someone can help me because right now I have an almost $4000 useless hood ornament on my boat.

My assessments rant vindication. A town in our county is in an up roar had a meeting where, thus far 8% of the population is contesting before April 3 dead line. They called a local station in. There was no link I could find or I'd post it. The assessor refused to show due to.....her very busy schedual. Land owners angry and concerned the significant increase is a deliberate plan just before a significant tax % increase.
Glad to see I'm not the only one with eyes wide open. Pretty sure their contesting #'s will increase
Now to that. Our town only allows a ONE DAY 4Hour hearing schedules during a work day afternoon,to show evidence when the line wraps around the parking lot each time.

Funny living out here in the country. In my area it is very segregated by ethnic groups, they do not like the Irish zero st Patricks day celebration, it is a drinking holiday and none of the small town taverns have a party, no corned beef and cabbage none of it. Glad my last name ends in sen or I would have been run out of town.

What is the ethnic group that doesn’t like Irish?

We’ve got lots of Polish and Norwegian blood in our area. Many last names end in “ski” or “son” up here. I lived on the iron range (NE Minnesota) for a couple years and there were mostly Finnish there. Last names ending in “ola” there.

Sweedes, Norwegians, polish and germans. There was talk in town at the hardware store when an outsider was going to reopen a restaurant in town, but it was ok they were from New Munich, good Germans.
