Goshawk are the worst for me that and the eagles for they love turkey. The pry birdsseem to be my only day time problem. Noght time I will only worry about bear. The chain link is around the entire areaand is backed up with a shorter cattle fencing. The bottom of fencing is up against a stone burm. Many years of my dumping stone out of the garden. Raccoon can and do climb but the coop wals are buried wire out 2 ft and up walls then chain link all covered in greenhouse plastic, landscapefabric and the heavy tarp.. then there are the solar securitylights that turn on at any movement i attached to each corner of the coop.

My FIL was hospitalized yesterday. He'll be 90 this year .several issues. Please say a prayers for him. Anything happens and it would just gut my son in particular.

FIL had surgery today, bleeding internally due to ruptured varicose veins rupturing in his abdomen. Surgery went well.

Chris I have to say I have zero interest in living to be 90, god bless the man for fighting. My great grandpa talked about how he was going to live to be 100 for 20 years. He did but he never made 101. My Mom's side the dementia kicks in around 80 I sure as hell do not want to endure what I have watched. That is why when I hit 75 I am going to start smoking Marlboro reds eat bacon every day and wash it down with Jameson.

You’ll live 20 years longer doing all of that!

My father and I had a talk about smoking, drinking and chasing women. He said you can smoke and drink when you get too old to chase women.

To be honest I'm surprised he's made it this far for he he is allowed to be completely sedentary.
My Fathers side parents lived very long. Siblings not so much. My mothers side past in their 30's and early 60's
My siblings, older 10 yrs and 8 are still kicking. Me I plan on working myself into the grave, thus the 600 ft of drive shoveling, gardening, land work. What does not kill you makes you stronger. 50 / 50 proposition I suppose.

Both sides of the family range from 65 to 89 with a whole bunch in between

FIL will be in PT ans Docs say he has at least another 6-8 years to go. Other than the current issue they fixed he's in good shape internally. That "time line " given. Y a Doctor surprised me. Very glad to hear though .

A positive rant, as I had another package that appeared to be stuck at the location. I opened a ticket with USPS, and two days later, it arrived. I received a call this morning to confirm everything was in order.

    RIP
We lost Scout on Christmas day . He started having problems Christmas eve and I drove him 3 hrs to Cornell universities ER. Christmas day. He had total blockage and a surgery plus new meds would only buy him a little time before the next round. He had developed two different stones. He would have had to be on a leash at all times. Dalmations are born to run and I could not leash a hunting breed the rest of his life.
Even sick he ran with A. j. the kids two dogs Christmas eve then hubby and I took him on a mile hike through our woods to just run.
We knew this was a possibility but are crushed at the moment.

Sorry to hear of the loss. We went through that last December and March...after 13 years of loyalty and companionship.

Very sorry for your loss OND. I think we knew Scout pretty well through your posts. Seems like we all lost a friend yesterday.

You gave Scout something he never would have had, sorry for your loss. I swear it is harder to lose dogs because they are so involved in your life.
