SOB power went out, little chilly in the house this am, the battery back up for the security cameras started chirping about 2 am I was pissed. My wife had to bring her dad to the VA for appointments this morning, had a branch go down in the storm in the driveway cleared that and watched her drive away, got a phone call the road to the county road had trees down on it and she was gonna be late. I still have it, I can still run a saw and cut trees up like I was not held enough as a child. Got after it and got her out quick.
It's a shame that the woke crowd takes a meaningful holiday and screws it up, calling it "decolonization." If it wasn't for the early explorers as Columbus, Vespucci, Henry Hudson, etc., I wonder if the "woke" people ponder where they would be if those people decided to say home. I'm thankful what we have and thank the Pilgrims who felt it was necessary to set aside a day of giving thanks. Guess who they thanked?
Ignore the noise do not acknowledge their mental illness, they hate America best thing you can do is carry on and be proud and offend the hell out of them by being happy.
Yep. I have enough in the bank to pay for their one way ticket, first class, to the country of their choice. I'll even help them pack!
That is pretty much the norm. Cracks me up with the self checkout at Lowe’s. Every time there are two employees walking around asking if you need help at the checkouts. Why not get behind the register and serve the customer. You work here, I don’t. If you’re going to pay someone then make them check you out.
Re: checkouts- I worked with a lady who was in a long line at Wally World. Waited forever with two screaming kids. She got tired of waiting, gathered up the kids, left the buggy and never went back.
No tax on OT keeps gdtting dumber. Not only is it just the 1/2 pay for regular overtime that goes untaxed, but double time is relegated back to 1/4 pay for those hours so still the same $ amount whether it is time and a half, double time, triple or even quadruple.
I worked at Lowe's for about a year. They had what they called Chinese overtime...the more overtime you worked, you made less per hour. Once I filled in for an absent worker. Thought I would get a few bucks overtime. When I hit 40 hours, supervisor told be to clock out and go home. This was in the middle of the afternoon!
Funny thing is, that was the online price at Home Depot. I go to the store in person and paid $60 for the same tree. Maybe they were factoring in a markup for the convenience of ordering online ahead of pick up? Stupid expensive if so.
I ran the the grocery store to pick some stuff up. I am waiting in line a woman has a big cart. In the lower part of the cart she had 4 12 packs of soda, she took two out and left two under the cart. She kept the cashier talking the whole time and was walking out. I walked by her and said I hope you enjoy the free soda, she said f you. I said loudly have a nice day scumbag thief. I hate people that steal.
Nah my winter coat is a vintage Woolrich heavy canvas jacket with the wool liner, she isn't slashing thru that. Love that coat is has a feathered Indian on the brass buttons back when Woolrich was made in the USA back in the 1970's..
Filson Double Mackinaw is my main coat, some college yuppie kid wanted to buy it from me, it's not for sale. They don't make them like this anymore.
Wife and I went out for dinner Saturday night we went to our favorite restaurant the next town over. We both ordered burgers and when we were full we realized we both ate half of our burgers. Sadly now we are at the age where when we go out we share a meal. I suppose matching outfits and square dancing are next for us.
I have another rant, it is early December and I have already had too many morning commutes in the snow and a few evening snow commutes. Where I live the road to town isn't salted and the road to the freeway the snow blows from the open farm fields to coat the roads. I am sick of it. We finally have an offer accepted on a new building my commute will be an hour 40 minutes in ideal conditions to the new facility. I am going to have an apartment small living quarters in the new building.
Sota, speaking of snow...wasn't there an inquiry about the people who salt the fries at McDonald's should salt the roads?
