I find myself in bed before 8:30 more often than not anymore. Not even 7:00 and I'm turning the TV off.

    I'm officially old........

Can not imagine sleeping or laying in bed for that long. I have not set an alarm in years I would have to be dosed like Michael Jackson to sleep till 7 am.

So back in June my Aunt told me she was attending a wedding reception at the community center in the town I live near, I said heck if you need a place to stay let me know, well the reception is today and she is bringing 4 people to stay overnight at my house. I guess that is fine but please get up eat breakfast and go, Sundays are sacred.

keeping a firearm LOCKED in your vehicle on school grounds is legal here (Indiana)
    • Keep a firearm:
      • Locked in the trunk of their motor vehicle;
      • In the glove compartment of their locked motor vehicle; or
      • Stored out of plain sight in their locked motor vehicle.6
Indiana also makes it unlawful to knowingly, intentionally, or recklessly leave a firearm in plain view in a motor vehicle that is parked in a school parking lot

She has pepper spray. (no taurus judge in her bag:evilgrin:) Honestly this is a situation my wife has dealt with since the world turned crazy she is the gatekeeper to entering the school she is first in line if any nut job tries to enter the school. The only reason she is working still is to be at the school the grandsons will go to.

This world can be brutal. Bookstore next to my home store had two people killed. Car just comes crashing up into the store. Breaks the windows and bricks out and crushes people. What in the hell!

Maybe we need more car control! I would meet my grandson after grade school and go to the local gun club. I mentioned this to the SRO. He said as long as the guns stay in the car. Plus they are covered...out of sight, out of mind.

So how dumb is the leadership in Chicago and Portland?

    Never mind… it’s rhetorical.

Repairs repairs repairs, last month I had to drop $1100 getting the front structs replacement on my truck, today I will pay $4600 for the rebuilding of the retaining wall in my split level back yard, and I probably need to have a wheel bearing replaced on the right front tire, probably drop around another $1000 for it. I am glad my wife and I are smart enough to keep a big enough emergency fund for when things like this happen. The rant is that with inflation and three kids, it sure takes longer to rebuild it when all this stuff hits in such a short time frame. It could be worse, my family is healthy and the financial damage is just to stuff, not people.

    We depleted the emergency fund

New Water Heater $4000, but got $600.00 tax break via the inflation reduction bill
New AC $5200, I think we lost the tax break in the Big Beautiful Bill, I have to check some dates
    Crack in foundation $1000.00

I had to pay 3200.00 for a new Garage door for my neighbor as I hit it with the tractor clearing her driveway for her, that was a great day. The Throttle assembly got ice in it somehow, and it did not stop.

I feel your pain, luckily my son decided to have your school paid for and enjoying college for four years was not for him, so I got 100G back I saved for him. I did restore the emergency fund, and my son is making more money than me at 19, lol

I am in East Peoria Il filling in at a conference for one of my sales guys. Please kill me. It is a recycling conference for the most part, I am a landfill guy zero interest in recycling (it is a huge subsidized lie). Huge waste of my time I decided I am going to drive home end of day at 4:30 8 hours 15 minutes home, don't care.

    Ah, Peoria.

I miss traveling to exotic locations for business…(Not!)

I have flown out of Peoria before, along with Westchester County airport as one of the smaller airports I’ve flown to/from.

I am a national sales manager I speak at conferences at beaches and resorts not standing in a booth in East Peoria. Lucky only an 8 hour 15 minute drive home. They had a ribbon cutting for the exhibit hall then served beverages and snacks in the hallway and had 2 rescue puppies, nobody is coming to the booth. I did go back to my room and watched a barge go by and saw the flying carp, that was kinda cool

$4000 for a water heater? Gold plated? Price one at Lowe's or Home Depot without pro discount. Plumber, IMO, just took you for a bundle.
