Nope I refuse to buy toys with payments so I have older stuff and you have to learn how to work on it. Pontoon new prop $65 done. The ski boat has a 351 ford Windsor in it same as a ford F150 so I can go to NAPA and get parts and components. I have it narrowed down to 3 possible components all are under $40 and switch out in 10 minutes. Or I could pay a guy and wait 3 weeks and pay big. I am thrifty and handy.
I come from a different world when diagnosing electronic components. Class 1 dive 2 check voltage line to line not line to ground but I get it now still afraid to fry components but negative is black on the battery.
Waiting for Mastercraft experts to weigh in on a website I release the solenoid on the back go the block has failed, an inexpensive fix (I hope) Best part is I am forced to learn how to trouble shoot this boat.
Stay positive, that is the side I am trouble shooting. That being said I can go to Napa and buy that solenoid for under $30. A boat repair place 3 weeks later with trouble shooting would be a $500 bill.
Woo hoo I found 12 volts on the solenoid going in jumped the connection to the topside of the solenoid bypassing the internal connection and boom 12 volts to the coil. Problem solved and lesson learned.
ALMOST, Almost made it through the summer with no ground bee attacks. I'm all happy for just selling hen flock and I'm out putting birds to bed. I round the run, mind you nearly dark now and wham!!!! I'm running for the house screaming and flinging my floppy hat. In kitcken underlights look down and Im covered in them. I run back out slapping my self still getting stung . To late for hubby is in the kitchen trying to kill a bunch, an hour later....my shoulder , arm and finger are on fire. Soak in tub, and still on fire
As I say God has a sense of humor. Born on April fools day then sticks me with....lets say, an interesting life on EVERY level. That said, also with the ability to laugh. Granted mostly at myself, which is better than laughing at others.
My son has 20 of his friends coming up next weekend, the Amazon packages are arriving, 5 gallon jug of Dawn dish soap for the red neck slip and slide tarp, then there were 4 other boxes. 4 of those inflatable balls that people go into and roll around into each other. Just what I needed more large inflated items in my garage. Last night before the storm I moved all the inflatable tubes and toys into the garage you can not walk thru the garage it is full.
Let the dogs out this morning and Scout comes back frantically bouncing around nipping at himself...yeppers bees on him. He finally ran off and rolled them off of him...I can't get him to go back out. Good thing... it just may have taught him not to pace and circle the turkey enclosure.
Which also implies, the guy complaining about the repairs in the "rant thread" should also be double posting in the "best things in life thread" as you wouldn't have it any other way. Keeps you busy and the rest happy, and regardless of how pissed off you may get, you're still happy doing it
Yeah I am here for one reason and while it has challenges and frustrations I want my tribe close. That is why we moved to the lake because kids were not going to visit the ranch.
So last night finally figured out the ski boat, yesterday I put the new prop on the pontoon figured we would go for a cruise. Son of a blow torch the 50 hp Honda is doing the same thing no go. My wife says well the party with have to go without the motor is shot, suddenly she is an outboard expert and diagnosed a costly lower unit replacement. I just stewed a little went out to have a garage beer and ponder. I woke up this morning waited for the sun to come up went down to the pontoon and inspected a little. It has to be the shift cable, lower units do not mechanically fail quietly, splined connections grind things seize up. My motor just fails to shift thing that sucks is I am going to have to do the repair standing balls deep on rocks in water. Oh and with sunfish nipping at me.
I had a friend ask to hunt with me this year, then asked me if there was any work left to do before season.... Ffs I have been everyone out of the pool since June Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
