I am not going to build a bob sled run just a path with banked sides that will prevent the boys from hitting a tree or rock while providing some speed. Overall objective wear them out from walking back up the hill.

In this job market I would stand pat, it's a weird one. Also soon to be a lot more looking in the coming months.
Keeps us posted on how it goes, I am curious to see. I have a few friends in it now and it's been dismal. In June 2024 I got the HR ambush on Zoom, kept me on for 6 weeks until July 31st, I got the privilege of training my replacement in Romania, after 9 years with this company it's been hard pill to swallow for me. They paid me $90,000 to go away and not sue them for age discrimination, our entire department was let go. Of the 9 of us only 1 of us(me) has a job. It's not like any job market I have ever been in, getting ghosted, getting to multiple final interviews and then nothing hearing nothing from them. I am lucky I work for a great small company now with a great owner. My days in Corp America are done, for a data engineer and being over 50 it is what it is. The first two weeks I was looking I got zero responses back, it was not until I made some changes I got some responses. 1. Only went back 15 years for experience on resume 2. Removed my graduations dates from resume Once I did the above I started to at least get some traction. I went from a Global French company where DEI was the rule and weekly emails on how we had to accept it, to working with 9 white dudes over 50, you know what it's pretty damn nice, I had forgotten what just coming to work and working was about without all the other non-sense. Thanks man. If I were a single man Id be happy to live near a river, fish for some smallmouth, and drink coffee with a 20 yr old truck. But alas, I have to grind bc I don't know how my sons health and life will play out. I have to get things ready financially in case he is disabled.

Had to shut down the sled run, an oak that has a crack in its trunk was cracking when the wind blew, you could hear it. Will have to photo document that it is a hazard tree because the DNR frowns upon dropping mature trees within 50' of the shoreline.
Why did I volunteer to fill in for field services and agree to go to a landfill in Fargo ND in January bet you $100 it will be cold and windy tomorrow morning at 0800.
