Been snowing since Sunday, still snowing, been some long commutes this week.

 

HR comes into my office to talk about a problem employee. I have had her supervisor document her attendance. HR says he has came up with a solution move the employee to a different position at the company. I had to pause for a second to put together a response that would not get me sued. I simply replied instead of terminating an employee that has not showed up for a full 40 hour week in the past 6 months, moving her to a different position is the answer? Terminate her or I will.

What a DA.

 

Sounds like your HR person used to work for the government and believes in participation trophies.

 

I farmed out the rest of HR, I have thought about it, we just transitioned to a new software at work, receiving inventory is critical data entry. I think he may have intended to transfer her within the company so she would train her replacement, and then terminate her after her attendance does not improve. I do not think that is ethical or wise you do not keep a person like that on staff for any reason. I am sure glad my cartoon bubble of my thoughts are not visible.

 

People like that are a cancer!
If they’re skimming time someone they’re close with is also!

 

I suspect you probably already have, but you might want to have a quick chat with HR person, to understand their thinking on reassigning. They may have meant well, but a quick chat will either inform you, or give the opportunity to help reset their POV.

 

This is the same HR person that has shown up late on days a new hire was to show up, what kind of example does that set?

Trying to explain that yes having a 115v oil filled electric radiator does bring the electric bill up by at least $50 a month. In the plant room with humidifiers and grow lights. These are tropical plants not profitable plants.

I would've answered, 'slightly less than a gas water heater uses electricity'...

Pollen is extra thick this year and the lawn is growing like crazy...i just mowed it 4-5 days ago and it's due again.
