I am pissed and sad I lost a valuable employee today. Had I been in the office instead of being on the site in Texas, I would have diffused the situation. It was a while coming she is not a pressure person, I often told her you do not get paid to get yelled at, I do so I dealt with difficult situations. Her quitting is a accumulation of issues and I feel bad but I think in the long run it will be better for her. She was my right hand dealt with all the recieveables and payables. I was not the one putting pressure it was the GM and the owner, I told them both my displeasure, we lost a 17 year employee because she was put in a position with way more responsibilities than she signed on for. I said cut her a check for $5 on the way out and a letter of recomendation signed by the owner, the gm, myself, and my partner.

Been without power for 9 hours now. I just want a fan, not an admirer, a fan with blades that circulates air. No more, no less.

Half the city is without power, I can't sleep without a fan.

Books that are only available in hardcover suck.

I get that back in the 1800’s and **** it took a whole lot of work to print something out so a pressed cardboard case made sense cause you needed to protect them pages… but it’s not the 1800’s any more… we got lasers, thermals, inkjets, and even dot matrixes… you can literally print stuff while you're sitting on the commode and dropping the kids off in the pool. Why they wanna make a book twice as heavy as it needs to be and give it this useless paper wrapper that constantly wants to slide off and if you lose the useles wrapper then the library is gonna charge you a $2 penalty for not keeping up with it… Honestly if I need a bicept workout then I’m gonna grab the maul and go split some firewood… but if I’m laying in bed with a book in hand I’m not trying to do isometrics… i just wanna read without having to wedge my foot into the covers all janky and **** so I can use my knee to help support the weight of the heavy ass book.

Coming up on 21 hours without power now, could be another 24-72 per the power company.

Not stupid hot, but it's pretty dumb.

    Found the
source of my outage, or at least the biggest obstacle to getting it restored. Trees fdll on the line and snapped the poles. 2nd pic is what is to the right of the firat, just from opposite direction. They haven't even been to the area yet, will be at least Monday before I get power back.

My cousin passed away yesterday. Having a hard time with it as he was much, much more than just a cousin to me. We grew up together. We fished, hunted, trapped and drank a lot of beer together. If I wasn't at home, I was with him having a great time. I had a great life growing up and a lot was because of him. RIP Ray

The word unapologetically. Everyone is using it these days to defend their position on matters. It basically means, "I can make up whatever I want and please don't force me to defend my position. What I made up is idiotic and maybe .00000789% of Earth's population may agree with me ".

I have to say looking at the age and condition of those poles, I'd be beyond ticked. People should be contacting whom ever does over sight on your utility company. At the least letting the company know through media there will be a push to over sight on their infrastructure.
Dear lord Bidens made me hate that word...,maintenance.

There are stacks of new poles all over in our area they are replacing. I know I ran over a stray bolt in one replacement and it promptly lodged on my tire. A sh-t happens moment, at least I know I'll have a better chance of power this winter. Good luck hope you have a generator or two

Trying to sell our home here in Central NC and, boys and girls, I'm tired. I have fixed, patched, sanded, taped, sanded, painted and sanded, pressure washed, ****, more sanding and painting, washed, bleached, caulked (sanded), filled (sanded), scrubbed, vacuumed, cussed, fussed and drank myself into a lump of whiny mess. Happy 4th. I'm off to eat and collapse.
