I have decided to prioritize my time when I go to a show. I will show up for show opening and the second day, after that out. Worthless 3rd day I can get back and get stuff done before the next one. Reps set up the booth and take it down I just show up. I will google and go I am not taking part in post show hospitality, will go out and dine alone tonight it's only 26 miles away from the hotel,
Lost a life long friend last weekend. Me, him, and another friend were inseparable in our twenties, if you saw one of us the other two were close behind. So many good times partying and chasing girls, hunting, fishing, jet skiing, rafting, camping, snowmobiling, dirtbikes, crotch rockets, boating, archery, and shooting guns. He had a massive heart attack while on a rafting trip, it sounds like it was fairly peaceful and quick. Wouldn't have been able to save him even if he wasn't on a river miles from anywhere. Only 51 years old, way too soon. He was in great shape from years of lifting and biking most every day, completely unexpected and unfair.
So I told my daughter this year all my miles and points this year were going to her, found out yesterday she is going on a trip but just her and her husband, no kids. WTF? Then I told my son I will have surplus miles he can fly anywhere in Europe, my only requirement when I gift miles is that they fly first class. My son refuses to fly first class, he says he hates it.
Not a rant per se but not sure how I feel about it... Minnesota legislature snuck crossbows for all bow hunters into a fishing bill I guess? I've never had a problem with crossbows but this might change my mind a bit. Our season opens mid-September every year so it's a long season. The MN fishing/hunting Facebook pages are hilarious right now. I'm indifferent at the moment but we will see. For those in states who legalized them, have you noticed much of a difference? In terms of more hunters/increase/decrease in deer numbers?
I've not seen any differences in numbers of hunters...maybe nominally more efficient/successful take.
I wish NYS would do that. This from someone that opposed them. I actually still do under current regulations. Well oppose just the regulations themselves. I use one and if things don't improve will only be able to use one. As it stands in NYS they are allowed in gun season, the special September doe only in our unit. , the last week or two(?) Of early bow and the late season bow. Hey not bad and the early bowseason one is prime time start of rut. My issue is....no two day bow class needed. Sorry but if you want to use a CROSSBOW than take the bow hunters course like I had to.
Drive home took twice as long as usual, oh the joys of holiday weekends. I should have never gone in today but I had to.
My wife had a bike in the garage taking up precious space, I tried to give it away no takers so I threw it in the dumpster at work. My son comes up and has 2 kids bikes in the bed of his truck my sister sent up because she thought I would want worn out bikes sitting in my garage for 3 years for my grandsons to ride someday?
I was going to rant about my weekend guests but will abbreviate. Whole family came up, drama within co guests took their harleys home Sunday AM early because it. Daughter is a cutter son is autistic and they decided to stay another night. Left Monday morning by 10:30 thank god. Same family that left the RV in my cul de sac and 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid 2 years ago. Never again. (according to my wife, her guests)
So I need to call Doc again. Things aren't clearing up as I'd hoped. Add to that The WHO put out a statement that the vaccine is now linked to the development of autoimmune disease and the onset of MS!
