Finally got the pontoon home yesterday, I have a few things to do before we launch it. I need to replace the from decking because the carpet rotted in a few spots and some of the plywood delaminated. No big deal I have plywood in the garage and the flooring in the garage. I opened it up and they used 3/4" plywood, I have 1/2 plywood. They also fastened to plywood to the frame using 5/16 bolts counter sunk into the plywood. There is no getting a socket on those heads the plywood is all swelled around the heads.
Have a door lock saw kit? The small blade to cut the bolt hole will probably also chip out around the bolt heads...
I hit the easy button, just 1 layer in a rather small area delaminated. I cut out the loose pieces and will put a layer of glass on it, then put the flooring down and launch.
The medical field. Had an episode this weekend with pegged blood pressure and pulse rate, from Saturday till Sunday night. My blood pressure gets high I puke, I puked so hard I got a bloody nose. I needed to assure my wife I was ok and am not going to die and my only option was going to the Hospital ER to get an EKG and lab work. Why can't this be done at urgent care? I have a flight Sunday morning I do not have to wait for an apointment at a clinic in a month and a half. Week ago I did my yearly wellness check everything was fine.
So much for all the mast trees, garden work, strawberry, asparagus, lettuce.....under a hard freeze warning tonight . High 20's to 32. They even warned of freezing pipes.
I had to spend half the day building hoops for the garden plants. Brassica can handle a frost but young seedl8ng and a hard freeze isn't viable. I can't protect everything but most brassicwill be covered with tarps and quilts
People are becoming bigger a holes. I ran to home depot to get more fiberglass resin and patch seed for the lawn. I go to my trunk and in the cart corral some a-hole put their empty paint cans in a home depot cart, what a jerk.
Not really a rant but kind of… Manager asked if I wanted to do this “team accelerator” course through our work program. I said sure why not. Come to find out it’s 5 straight 6 hour days of classes. On top of the classes it’s “extremely recommended” that we read a 140 page book and a 15 page Harvard Business review…. So we can answer the 65 questions they sent us (need done by June 1st). It’s a “bigger deal” class than I thought and is only recommended to people who I guess have potential in the business. Started digging and see if costs $500 per person that’s expensed to the business unit. Glad I have 6 hours of flight time this weekend to get that book read. Hope the class isn’t too bad. Well the garden now looks like our southern border. A kilidoscope of color in tarps, sheets, quilts, blankets and landscape fabric.
Nothing harder than staying on program while on vacation. Guess that's why it's called Hard 75 Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I have alot to get done for next weekend this weekend and a 7 am flight Sunday morning, not looking forward to leaving the house at 4:30 Sunday morning. Running a business is so glamorous.
Hilton hotels, hotels in general. Little things neglected, not repaired. Last week in Chattanooga the after hours card scan to open the enterence doors did not work had to call to get let in. Hotel I am in this week Hampton Inn in Glens Falls I am on the 4th floor the 4th floor button in the elevator is janky you have to push and wiggle for it to work. 3 weeks in a row on the road makes me cranky.
I have another travel rant. I have a 7 am flight on a Sunday morning, I left home at 4:30 to get there on time. I get in the airport and it is packed I go to check my bag in the sky priority line and the line is moving slow I am getting a liitle concerned about getting checked in on time. I check my bag and the ticketing agent starts talking to me about upgrading my Delta Amex to platnium, just check my bag and keep it moving, do not delay me because you are hitting people up to apply for a credit card. I am sure it sucks for the ticketing agents who are being forced to sell as well.
If you're in town for a few days, run down to a place in Saratoga for dinner called Old Bryan Inn. Its an old and janky Inn with history and good food.
