So sawyers came out shoes clothes sprayed. Hair had fine toothed comb ran through it and along scalp. Girls taken out and check. Too late! I itch everywhere, creepy crawly syndrome in full bloom
Next week is our once a year service school training, I will be staying in a hotel by the plant. I am the credit card so I have to buy dinner for 40 people every night, grill lunch 2 days, be the MC and present for 2 hours a day.
Sorry to my fellow Minnesotans I moved the snowblower out to the shed and brought the lawnmower into the garage, that is what has brought the snow we have coming. I angered the gods.
We are in our 4th day in the low 80's. So Monday we can drop into mid 4o's day and low 30's at night. Small the trees and brush that are flowered out can freeze
Springs here. A. J. Killed his first snake yesterday to my shugrin. I was buzzed and fought off bees a lot yesterday. Let the games begin...lol
The thunder rolled in just enough to make us take cover now clearing...we need rain bad filling humidifier 4 x's a day
Had thunderstorms last night, one would think a 14 year old chihuahua would have figured out thunder will not kill her, fing dog.
We were standing out in an open field surrounded by fence posts and metal fencing. We know a family from Avon NY who's son died In a strike. Thunder was in the distance, sun shining on a field trip walking down a side walk. Struck a cross he was wearing. 3 times I've been within yards of strikes.. Hair goes up on my arm and you can bet I'm on the run for cover. Cousin had a golden that could literally wedge it's self in the basement rafters ( first story floor joist.) It eventually died breaking a basement window and runn8ng into traffic. During thunder storms.
What the hell is going on, funerals for 2 police officers in small town Wisconsin yesterday, officers shot 1 killed in small town west central Minnesota, what is going on with small town violence?
Eewww a complete break down cleaning bleaching and rinse of both chicken and turkey brooder. What a job. The birds had their first trip outside as I cleaned. A. J. Got a training session with the birds. Only a couple of tail feathers grabbed and a very understood correction made. The turkey were much more "flighty" with him than the chickens. It will be a process to get him to egnor them. They'll be set for the next week of cold weather in the house.
Hard when the birds react to him getting close, dog has to fight every instinct to not catch the fleeing creature.
We inherited a yellow lab years ago from a sister-in-law who's brother passed away from a heart attack. He had trained Zena for hunting ducks and pheasants. None of that mattered to me as I don't hunt ducks or pheasants. We brought Zena home and let her out of the Escape. One of the outside cats came over to see us. He was not expecting to meet a big dog. He ran but didn't make it very far before Zena caught him. The wife is freaking out. I am trying not to laugh because the cat went into opossum mode and played dead in her mouth. She came running back with him to give to me. The wife is still freaking out. I tell Zena good job and take the cat from her mouth. Zena is happy. I am happy. The cat is not hurt. The cats decides to come back to life and freak out which led me to start bleeding in multiple spots trying to hang on to it. Zena was like... let him go and we can do this all over again. I like this game !!!!
I trained my lab to leave it when people came over he would not even bark , I could not get him to leave any bigger bird in the yard, ever.
We would take Zena out shed hunting with us. She couldn't of cared less about a deer antler. She would run 15 - 20 yards in front of us searching for pheasants and grouse in the CRP. When she found one, she would point which for a lab that was really good. I think she was always disappointed in us cause when she flushed one. She would look at it as it flew away and then look at us... WTF shot it for God's sake !!
I raised pheasants most beautiful point I ever saw from a dog was my wife's great dane. I was looking out the front window and I could see the pheasant sitting in a clump of glass and watch the dane approach it was beautiful her head was up and when she got to five yards and her head dropped and her paw came up to point at the same time. Had I gone out and shot that bird that dog would have fled the county.
I routinely pop packing bags right next to A.J some of those big "pillows" make a dang loud bang. Hubby says the other day, "he didn't even flinch at that ". Nope very use to loud bangs been training him. Found out he also is no linger afraid of the water and we've been stick retreiveing every one of these warm days. As far as the birds go he'll train well, on our walks he routinely flushes coveys of mourning doves. Never reacts to them, even though just a few feet away. He's great with other dogs and cats and will not chase a deer. That was my first Training with him. I won't have a deer chaser on my property ever.
