People who do not do their jobs. It is a plague in academia. I submitted my research project application for my master's degree on March 8th. It sat on the first review board member's desk untouched for four weeks. Finally, it was sent to a different board member and was approved in four days. Approval came through on Tuesday April 24. It is due May 6th at midnight. Instead of the five to six weeks I should have had to recruit and test participants, I get 10 days. I wanted to have 30 participants, looks like I will be getting 12-15 if the remaining who have volunteered to test do not back out. Then I still have to finish writing two chapters of the thesis once the testing is complete.
Setting alarms to wake up. Sometimes I set three alarms for the next day. One to get up to my daughter to the bus. One to wake up to pick her up. And one just in case I fall asleep between picking her up and work starting at 8pm. Shift work can be a real blast I tell you. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Had a fire today before 11:00am. It was started by a meth smoker, ironically it was at the hotel the final scene of the movie Fargo was filmed at. It is a real crap hole filled with transients. Last thing I needed was an early fire in a wet swamp with hummocks, it was fun though was working with 3 other guys that have 20 plus years of experience.
Another thing I don't get cultural appropriation, vs embracing diversity. Seems like there are just groups waiting to be offended?
I am offended that you think I would wait around for you to offend me. I like to pretend that I have better things to do with my time. But it would offend me more if you assumed that.
Every single day in the media. Every day someone wants to be the coop guy or girl who claims their little feelings are hurt. What a weenie society we live in these days. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I cant quite figure it out, everyone wants to be in the melting pot, but nobody wants to melt. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
dude...if your q-tips come out looking like that you need to clean your ears more often. Or go to the doctor or something.
For the record they don’t. The only thing that remotely resembles Kathy griffin that comes out of me is the occasional bout of vindaloo initiated diarrhea.
that made me think of tandoori chicken, and then I got hungry. Kathy Griffin inspired diarrhea conversation made me hungry. I might have issues. it looks exactly like her!
I really want a curry now. I’m super jet lagged and couldn’t decide on what I wanted to eat tonight and now I know. Thanks buddy
First of my fire career I drug hose down a dock to put out cat tails, saved the dock but the lady got a ticket.
Not sure but back in college i lived in a townhouse with 4 roommates and we had a ground level wood deck with a gas grill. Occasionally we'd see a chipmunk jump up into the grease tray underneath. So this one time I ignited the grill without opening the lid. Heard a horrible little screech followed by loud banging around inside. I opened the lid and a flaming chipmunk comes flying out and runs under the deck, setting all the leaves and debris under the decking on fire. Almost set the whole deck and house aflame. Did a number on the vinyl siding. True story.
We were switched from our old dispatch at the sheriff's office ten miles to the north, to a dispatch center 50 miles north of us, in a whole different county. The transition has had some bumps. Our ambulance service is separate from the fire department but dispatch has repeatedly paged fire for medicals and the ambulance for fires. Being in a different county, they don't know our area very well. We have a smaller population, but it's not a small area. 10K people in 3,400 sq. miles. It's not their fault that they don't know the area but it's not helpful. On Monday they paged out the ambulance for a fire investigation. Lol This evening, they paged the wrong ambulance crew. They paged the ambulance in the town 11 miles north of us for a head-on wreck 7 miles south of our town. I thought maybe I heard the page wrong but got ready just in case. They didn't send the correct page until about five minutes later. We left the instant we got it, but five minutes is a long time for someone in need. On the upside, they do get a lot more info from the callers than the previous dispatch. I'm sure the bugs will get worked out but in the meantime, it makes for a good rant. Well it is not very easy when the water levels are high but if the temp and RH are right and a little wind they burn with an intensity you won't see with upland grasses.
there's an invasive grass or reed that's crowding out most of the cattails around here that the Cook Co Forest Preserve crews burn off every spring (doesn't kill it at the roots) and it makes for quite a spectacle. The grass is an easy 9'+ and very dense so that's a lot of biomass. Flames go an easy 25' in the air.
Selling a house ughhhhhh I have no idea how anyone sells a house today, lol It's a 130,000 not a 500,000 house you dolts. New Roof Encapsulated crawl(10,000) I just put in New Doors New kitchen(Sorry not Granite Counter tops) New Carpet People still whine
