This is a huge thing. I'm the business manager - but cannot make any major decisions myself. That all goes to our board - who meets for two hours once a month. It's quite ridiculous and is a reason why I'll never work for a non-profit again. We hardly micro-manage anything.
Hah! I'm a supervisor, taking 25 days off straight for deer season. Told my designated Acting Supervisor to 'have fun'!
Normally, I try to mostly avoid this and the political thread during the height of deer season, but this was my day today- Came home/took a break from MI to catch up on a couple things around the house and re-set my 5hitty season; and this happens: Throw out my back hauling up 40lb water jug from the basement...I know by how it feels it will be appx a week before it feels good so long as I take it easy a) My buddy calls and says he is thinking of pushing our (his property) trip to WI back a week due to predicted 'possible rain'...and all our sets are pre-hung and easy in/out and up/down...now it's looking like if I'm gonna hunt it will be public land in MI which is mostly pack in/out Smashed the F out of the tip of my release trigger finger (luckily the cut is on the top and not the pad so I can still touch one off...but F it hurts) missed a pocket knife in my pant pocket before putting into the laundry...said knife opened up and cut up a bunch of clothes
Gawd I wouldn't wish that on anyone! I respect her for all her hard work, but I couldn't handle every day being à calamity. Some folks are touched and others bring it on themselves. I think she in the touched category. She is one tough ole gal though...
Waiting on the phone repair man. Repair window? Yeah. 8-5. They are as bad as the cable guys!! At least I supposedly get a one hour notice. Would have worked from home but no internet while the phone line is out. sheesh
I may not hunt again this year. I'm at a crossroads in life and there's a fork just before it and a Y just after....
Sounds like something or someone is trying to tell you to"eat at the Y" Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I did break out a 410, rather than a gamma. I was not hunting I was killing. 1 left to take out took out a chipmunk tonight.
Yesterday was a pretty stressful day at work. 3rd day in new position and felt as if I was not being given the training that was discussed. I will not concede to defeat and failure is never an option. That post was me having a dilemma within. I was seriously debating walking into work Monday morning and putting my phone on it's charger and telling the plant manager I was not there. I was then going to spend the entire week, on my vacation time being used, to train alongside(shadow) other supervisors as I choose. Not being distracted, not being pulled away and not obligated to any official duties. Just there to learn my way on my time, being paid just the same. Today went a lot better, got some of the training I was wanting that went a huge way towards what I was more upset about and had a productive sit down with owners, HR and top management of the plant on bringing back a few people with experience that I want. I'm on vacation now and soon to be rutcation after this BS weather moves through tomorrow and Saturday.
Saw the surgeon today. Thought I only had 2 hernias. He informed me, I have at least 5 along the scar line according to my latest CT scan. January 3rd, I get gutted again. This time he will be putting mesh in. Otherwise, it will just keep ripping out with more hernias. To top that off, mom's old horse I inherited... went from doing great all summer to going downhill fast the last 3 weeks. Not sure if old age caught up to her, she hurt herself, the colder weather or a combination of things but she seems to be in pain in her back end when she walks. Going to have to get her to the vet but have a feeling they will say it is time to put her down. She is such a great horse. She brought a lot of enjoyment to Barb and I the small amount of time we have had her. 2022 sucks !! One disaster after another.
TJF, you could consult the vet and maybe see about getting a equine chiropractor out. I had a gelding who constantly put his hip out. We put down my last childhood horse last week - I think he had Cushing's Disease and I never thought of it until too late. But, he also was 28-30 years old. My mare, wasn't doing hot this summer - couldn't get her to gain weight, but finally winning that battle and I think she'll make it through winter good. Sorry to hear about the hernias. Good luck with the surgery - that is going to be an indepth surgery if there are five.
Experiencing colic multiple times - I don't think it would be that. Especially if it's been going on for three weeks. Since horse is older, could even be arthritis with the change of temperatures.
