We're in a slight drought. High temps, very little rain, kind of my perfect summer. Having a pig roast this weekend and it's projected to be rain Friday-Tuesday and crap weather. What the heck.
I move here 3 weeks ago and the creek by my house exceeds max flood stage levels 4 times in 10 days. Major flooding.
The big town of Brocket is as rural as you can get. If you knew a few of my not so lovely neighbors and it is not me who is doing the shooting, you tend to pay attention and ready yourself if one is flipping out. The neighborhood has gone downhill since I moved here in 88. My neighbors used to be the high society of important people of Brocket. Now the ones living here seem close to being on the most wanted list according to the deputy sheriffs and sheriff activity in the last several years. It is quite exciting here all year round with their sh!t shows.
Had an employee text me last night complaining about not getting a raise. I replied you get a salary plus commission right. Replied yeah. I replied you have the ability to give yourself a raise, make a proactive sales call.
We've had the opposite...rained so much here, its just swampy. We started summer in a mild drought...we've caught up, despite non stop 90s & 100s.
This is a guy who asked to take just a half hour lunch so he could leave at 4:30 then can not get his ass to work before 8:15 in the morning.
Yup. That has been our summer. 3 miles away to the north got 4 inches, 1.5 miles to my east got nothing. I had 2/3". First rain is 3 weeks. We have watched rain on the rain approach to within 10 miles and completely dry up. Frustrating when one is trying to build a deck and figure you have a certain quitting time and then the rain is a no show.

So I spend my time driving by profiling drivers. I can say this to be accurate with a large enough sample size. If you are wearing a high visibility shirt and driving an older buick, you drive like an idiot.
Have an esophagram this morning at 10. Liquid dinner last night-no food or liquids after midnight. Kids? They can eat or drink up to 4 hours before. Why the double standard?? If this were a colonoscopy, I would be eating breakfast already
Positive rant. I noticed this before I started mowing. It would have been about 3 to 4 ft above my head. Went out last night and stuck the torch in the entrance hole. I’ll mow tomorrow.
