Last 2 days have been hearing presentations on insurance, HR, benefits, health insurance. Do these people think that others are impressed when they make up new terms, it is not on boarding is called hiring. Just grinds my gears and I think it is dumb.

that is easier than laying on your back, your butt in the car seat and your feet at the headrest in order to change the blend door that is behind the glove box

and then a small mother effin screw falls into the back of the carpet!

I had to replace the brake light switch on my jeep a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't get the seat to go back far enough, had to roll down the window and hang my feet out that way to get my shoulders between the front of the seat and under the dash.

I can't find my weather prediction post I usually do , that said

It's been a dang cold few weeks and we are in a pretty wet time. High forties low fifties at night . Low 70's during the day, which this I actually actually love. The cold nights have been great for tree growth around here the worms seem to not, knock on wood, be doing as much damage as last year. My tomatoes/peppers are not happy.

My prior and current company use the terms on and off boarding. Maybe these new fangled terms are just used in the big city

Seems like we used to use terms like hire up till around their start date...onboarding could stretch further to include vesting (e.g. Some been may require up to a year of employment) or ramp up (include accesses, learning, etc)...

Reminds me I haven't seen @PinkPony on lately either.

'Buy Dirt' is a catchy little song with a great message...but why TF is he sitting on his grandpa's rocking chair with a cordless mike?

Neighbors are not from the US...generally speak broken english. 3 generations living in the house...one of the kids (maybe 4yo) is let run loose outside, sometimes without supervision. I'm not sure if he even understands English. This kid screams nonstop for hrs on end...literally - seems to be more than just a behavioral issue, and keeps running up into my yard/playing around the retaining wall (probably a 4-5' drop) between my property and the neighbors. I've run this kid off 3 times already today as I don't want him to fall.

I may need to invest in an electric fence.

I could watch kids get zapped by an electric fence all day long.

When I was a young teenager my cousin and I were out goofing around at his house. They had hogs and naturally had electric fences.

We were walking by the electric fence and out of the blue he said “I wonder if it’ll shock you if you pee on it?”

My cousin wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, and while I’m no genius I knew then that water will conduct electricity. Me being me though, I assured him there was no way it would shock him.

He unzipped his pants and proceeded to pee on the energized wire. At first he moved the stream up and down making multiple brief contacts with the wire.

This assured him that it was harmless, but what he didn’t know (but I did know) was that the fence is energized in pulses about a second apart.

I started backing up as he centered his urine stream on the wire. A second later the inevitable happened. He went from standing upright to the fetal position in one quick move and for just a moment he was curled up in mid air like a Looney Tunes character.

He hit the ground screaming and I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe.

The first words out of his mouth when he could talk again were “I’m gonna kick your ***!”

He was no threat at that point though.

If you see a kid that age Literally screaming all the time...I'd bet dollar to doughnuts he is having a hearing issue.

    Where is he?

As far as my rant today...some DipSh outside at this restaurant is talking real loud about his divorce and sounds like an idiot. I want to slap him senseless. I dont care about your nightmares or your women problems. Take it someone where else!

Oh, and the refrigerator crapped out on us Saturday. Fortunately, we have a big freezer in the garage for all the frozen stuff,
But everything in the fridge is now sitting in two coolers on the kitchen floor. With the heat index from the post before this, it is 78 in the house with the thermostat set on 75. The a/c just can’t keep up when the heat index is this hot.

The weather was about the same here.

A couple of years ago we bought a dehumidifier. Drying the air in the house really helps. Then again, we don’t have kids running in and out.

Was coaching an open gym for my JV girls(VB) and my oldest daughter was there helping. She gave a speech on the importance of vertical and increasing it perpetually. To express it after she brings the girls to a stage in the same room that is about 40 inches high and box jumps it. It wow'ed my girls and they all wanted to "get there" someday. After, I said ok ladies you now have a goal, it's important to strive to be as good as US. They laughed of course and said ok coach... Then I boxed jumped it clean and all talk and smiles stopped . Yeah I still got it I told them.
I relaxed after dinner and went to get up to take a shower for bed and Sweet baby Jesus Am i sore. Not looking forward to tomorrow morning at the gym. At my age going zero to max is a stupid endeavor.
