Son didn't listen to me lost a flock of chickens...
Son didn't listen to me lost a second flock 2weeks later..WTH
neighbour lost all his ducks, gets a trap and proved to son I was right and reason I no longer raise chickens.
He caught a huge Fisher. A Fisher killed my flock years ago. Literally ripping a window off it's hinges and chewing a hole through the doubled chicken wire. I knew it was a Fisher.
DEC wanted to see a comeback of fishers ...they got it. People losing livestock and a predator that not only loves eggs like raccoons, Fox, coyotes .etc,etc... but will pull full grown Turkey off their roost to kill them. I have the bones and feathers stuffing in my tree stand to prove it. Gee between past weather and a bad fur market ,no trapping being done a explosion of a big predator that loves Turkey and...fawn

One day, I'm going to make it from the store to the kitchen counter without smashing the loaf of bread I bought...

Yeah nobody rebuilds 1983 johnson outboards, sucks because I just spent $200 on having the prop redone. Guess I am motor shopping. Looking at a 1990 Mariner tomorrow 115 hp 10 hours on a rebuild. Close to the same price of a reconditioned powerhead.

Can't find another similar, yet newer, Johnson/Evinrude that maybe can use current motor as a donor?

Not going to, the motor I am looking at tomorrow is newer and the easy button. Evidently those motors have a reputation of rings splitting, probably did not help that the thing spent a lot of time at full throttle last summer.

Nothing wrong with that, might want to check into servicability on that one as well since it's 32 years old.

Damn that makes me feel even older

I have done some research on the year and model seems reliable this motor has been rebuilt so seems like the best option.

Thanks I agree with what your saying!

I just have an uneasy feeling about it?

Understood. And alcoholism can manifest/progress over several years.
But if she's happy, he treats her good...not much you can do other than be happy for her.

Plenty of seemingly well-adjusted non-boozehounds that end up being cheaters and/or beaters. Be happy she's happy- until she ain't.

Credit card got hacked. $900 + at some Luis Viton or how ever the hell you spell it and 40 at chick filet in Georgia. I don’t know how people get the credit card # I can’t remember the last time I used that card.

I come from a family of alcoholics, abusers, and criminals. I was a bartender and night club manager for several years. I drank but was not an alcoholic. I would drink with friends and at gatherings and still do on occasion. I'm not an abuser and not a criminal.
    Point
Do not judge a person by their family but by their deeds. Gently make your daughter aware and make sure she knows your not there to judge should life go side ways but to support. Then when you have a one on one time and whiskeys are mentioned slide in concerns . Make the conversation a story about your experience about a family member or a friends. That way your not putting him in a defensive mode and he may give you his perspective. A honest view into his mind set.
Worry if you see a few go down and they leave without your daughter behind the wheel. Then you know he's not dealing well. That's when you know there may be other "excuses" being levelled in the " I'm fine" catagory.

Been a thing with daughters better half a few years now...I know dropping well over 100.00 for a bottle of booze as a gift seemed crazy to me but it makes him very happy. This way before Biden......

Handed Son my credit card to get supplies...he's putting a new roof on the old goat barn. Sheathing and all. I DID GET 1 4x8 to use on a blind the rest were shot.
Any who...he had to buy some bleach to spray mold on the joists due to having gotten wet. He came back and handed me the bleach to fill spray bottle, dollar store brand and STILL ...

"Help desks" - I've wasted what seems to be a couple hours today already on the phone with helpdesks who, well, really aren't much help.

I've been talking with 'help desk' personnel [and on hold for over 24 minutes one time - I won't hang up!] for three days now. Just received a callback from one of the two businesses involved... HOPEFULLY, everything will be fine (in ~ 48 hours she said). Let's hope so!

I hate national car rental simply because of their hold music. I was once on hold for over a half hour that song is burned in my memory and it pissed me off every time I hear it.
