    Effing mice!!!

First off, in the just over 11 years living here, I have had one mouse in the house. Was 2 years in and I just happened to see it at the bottom of basement stairs as I was about to leave. Changed plans and went to store, bought a 4 pack of mouse traps and some peanut butter. Was dead 4 hours later when I checked on the traps.

    Fastforward 8 plus years....

Previously mentioned neighbor that cut down a tree and let it lay for a period of time finally had it moved to between sidewalk amd street right of way. Been there for a few weeks and guessing he thinks the city will pick it up like storm damaged limbs. Problem is haven't had any storms and can tell it was cut down.

I'll be the one to cut it up and get it out of here. Went out to get the model # on chainsaw, found it is easier to buy new carburetors anymore reather than rebuild. Had a bag of top soil on the shelf from when I removed a bush and filled in. Get to the shelf the chainsaw is on and see dirt everywhere on the shelf. Little effers chewed into the bag and had to have moved half the 40lb's of dirt out and spread it on the shelf.

Never seen anything like it, not sure if they were trying to use the inside of the bag as a nest or hoping to plant a garden without sunlight

Can't imagine how long it took them to move that much dirt.

This guy nailed it. The only people responsible for the stereotypical millennial behavior is their parents. Technology is a guilty accomplice. The “you can be anything you wanna be” guidance has screwed these people. And they aren’t much younger than me. My advice to my kids will be “you will surprise yourself at what you can be if you put your mind to it and work your ass off for it, but you cant be and do anything, that is a fabrication.” and most importantly its ok to fail. Failure is necessary to know your self worth. I hope this generation recovers. It truly isnt their fault.

Yet another morning of ample deer but no birds. I haven't killed a bird in years and get lucky when I hear a gobble. Sucks

I got into goblers twice this season. First one some other guy shot. Second one I hiked 2 miles into the woods only to run into another guy a few hundred yards away...

Lake association, was talking to the neighbor about not hearing about the yearly meeting. Evidently the lake association has a meeting amongst the board then they have a meeting to tell the paying members what they decided. That is BS. Also learned that the bible camp on the lake does not pay the $25 per year because they are a non profit and should not be obligated to pay $25 a year, plus they charge the lake association to use the building for the annual lake association meeting. Screw you people.

Well I tried to go on a weekend trip with some friends up in northern Wisconsin to do a little trail riding. We had 2 cabins rented at a resort on a lake. We got up there after traveling a bit over 200 miles (4 hours), unloaded and relaxed with a couple of adult beverages. We then jumped in the side by sides and attempted to take a little ride. We only got a little less than a mile before we came across a big tree blocking the trail. We turned around and went back to a small bar to try to borrow a chainsaw.

It was then that the bar owner informed us that the trails were closed due to storm damage earlier in the week. Why no one called to let us know is beyond me.

We drove back, loaded the machines back on the trailers and stayed the night. The resort had it's own bar/restaurant where we spent most of our time before heading back the next day.

    Better luck next time.

Was up at mom's and got the tire fixed on the tractor yesterday. That went well. Brother shows up about the time I am done. He lives 5 miles from the farm. The yard is a mess due to all the high winds we have been having. He has been off work for over a week due to covid which he thinks was a false positive. He wasn't sick other then sinus problems and a slight fever for a half day. He sat in his house the whole d@mn time doing nothing when he could have been working at the farm to get it ready for the auction in June.

I am pissed. I drive an hour one way to go there. I have no time but yet I am there working. I was going back today to do yard work but F it. I got stuff to do here. I am tired of this being a one man show. The wife is tired off it. She has spent more time working there then he has.

Tell the brother to get see if he can't spend some time getting the yard picked up/cleaned up. Stupid as it sounds, some folks just don't see the problem unless you point it out.

Boats that have a built in fuel tank, why hide the fuel filter, why put it where you have to contort on your back to get to it. Sure hope the fuel filter solves the issue I do not want to get into the actual tank impossible to access fully.
